Original job description

Founded in 2017, TripArc is a $750 million privately held company powers the top Travel Agencies and Tour Operators in North America. Our expansive and growing network empowers seamless access to a comprehensive range of travel options and services globally with over $750 million transactions annually - all at the industry’s best rates.

As an industry leader in technology, purchasing, finance, HR and marketing, we know how to deliver solutions to travel professionals in the most effective way possible. With deep experience in partnering with two leading brands in the luxury travel space – Kensington Tours and Travel Edge – TripArc has real insight into the needs of tour operators and travel agencies today.

TripArc’s goals are simple. To make our network of over 1400 travel entities more profitable, efficient and help them create truly unique travel for their clients.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days a week at our office located in Downtown, Toronto.

ABOUT THE ROLE

TripArc is seeking a Senior UX Designer to help shape the future of our B2B travel platforms. Our products power the day-to-day work of Destination Experts, Travel Advisors, and global DMC partners, supporting everything from itinerary creation and pricing logic to booking management, operational workflows, and more. We work AI-first: designers prototype with Claude and Figma Make, and engineers build with AI-assisted development. You will join the Quote to Pay domain, where building and editing trips is the core of the product and AI is becoming part of the experience as well as the process.

This is a high-impact, end-to-end product design role focused on solving complex, real-world problems in a domain where usability, speed, and clarity directly affect revenue, efficiency, and customer experience. You'll own a product area, partner closely with Product and Engineering, and help evolve platforms used daily by professional travel sellers.

This role is ideal for a senior designer who enjoys ambiguity, systems-level thinking, and designing for expert users, not just consumers. If you are passionate about solving real problems, delivering valuable solutions, and eager to learn new technologies, this is the opportunity for you.

You will design how advisors price a trip, take deposits and payments, pay suppliers, and invoice their clients. These screens handle real money, so accuracy and trust matter as much as speed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product discovery and problem solving

  • Lead UX discovery for complex workflows by deeply understanding user needs, operational constraints, and business goals.
  • Translate research insights into clear problem statements, user journeys, and experience principles.
  • Explore multiple solution paths through sketching, wireframes, prototypes, and usability testing.

End-to-end design ownership

  • Own the design lifecycle for your product domain, from early concept through delivery, iteration, and post-launch optimization.
  • Design intuitive, scalable user flows for sophisticated B2B use cases such as itinerary building, booking management, and internal tooling.
  • Deliver polished final design specs and documentation for seamless developer handoff.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work as part of a tight product trifecta (UX, Product, Engineering) to shape roadmap decisions and ensure design intent is executed effectively.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to balance user needs, technical constraints, and commercial outcomes.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly, using data, research, and rationale to build alignment and trust.

Design systems and standards

  • Leverage and evolve TripArc's design system to ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Document interaction patterns, UI specifications, and design rationale to support scalable development.
  • Champion UX best practices across teams and contribute to a strong design culture.

Working AI-first

  • Use AI tools such as Figma Make and Claude daily to explore, prototype and iterate, then take the best ideas through full design rigor.
  • Work with engineers on AI-built prototypes, and check AI output for quality and bias.

Craft, accessibility and team

  • Facilitate design critiques and workshops, and give clear, constructive feedback.
  • Mentor other designers and help raise the bar for craft across the UX team.
  • Design for accessibility from the start and speak up when a decision would shut some users out.

Measurement and optimization

  • Define UX success metrics and KPIs tied to usability, efficiency, and business impact.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to validate designs and continuously improve outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of professional UX design experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex digital products.
  • Strong experience with B2B products/platforms, systems thinking, and experience designing for expert users or operational tools.
  • Experience designing high-stakes, data-dense interfaces. A fintech background (payments, billing, expense or accounting products) is strongly preferred.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design work, including discovery, problem framing, interaction design, and shipped solutions.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript capabilities and constraints.
  • Experience defining and tracking UX metrics to measure effectiveness and guide iteration.
  • AI fluency: you use AI tools daily to research, ideate, and prototype; you check their output critically, and you have a point of view on designing AI-assisted features.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and building with components from a shared design system.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Proven ability to design in ambiguous, evolving problem spaces and iterate quickly based on feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence cross-functional partners.
  • Experience facilitating critiques or workshops and mentoring other designers.

NICE TO HAVE

  • A fintech background (payments, billing, expense or accounting products).
  • Experience in the travel industry, ecommerce, or other complex service-based domains.
  • Experience designing internal tools, revenue-impacting workflows, or multi-sided platforms.
  • Experience designing conversational or AI-assisted interfaces.
