Job Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, service and sanitation of the internal and external plant in compliance with standard operating procedures, health and safety standards.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision as well as color recognition. Good hand eye coordination is necessary.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing environment and around machinery that produces noise. The noise level in the work environment is very loud. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned personal protective equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. The atmosphere contains fumes, dust, and odors.
Job Summary

Job Duties
- Pick-up and disposal of trash for the entire facility including offices, cafeteria, conference room, restrooms, internal and external plant.
- Gather trash, separates recyclable & non-recyclable and empties them in the allocated containers to be picked up.
- Responsible for janitorial supplies inventory control & reordering as necessary.
- Services and cleans restrooms, offices, cafeteria, meeting/training rooms, quality control rooms, lobby and outside areas.
- Responsible for keeping floors clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them & operating floor polisher/buffer and scrubber.
- Notifies managers of potential hazards or any concerns related to the condition of the plant.
- Maintain walkways both internal and external (i.e., snow/ice removal).
- May be required to paint or move furniture.
- While conducting work functions, ensures compliance of all corporate policies and health and safety standards.
- Shall be competent and shall have appropriate education, training, skill and experience. They shall be fully conversant in BRC Food Safety Policy, GMPs, HARA Principle and BRC Food Safety Standard and Application.
- 5S and housekeeping of the shop and office.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years of janitorial experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to run industrial hand-operated floor polisher/buffer and scrubber as well as a snow blower
- Aware of the GHS instructions and requirements
- Must be able to take initiative, follow instructions, work without supervision and manage time
- Team player with the ability to coordinate work with fellow workers
- Able to work safely; has a strong knowledge of safety practices and principles
