We are seeking a Senior Vulnerability Management Specialist for a contract opportunity in Ottawa, running from October 2026 to July 2027. The position requires a valid Government of Canada SECRET security clearance and English-language proficiency; French/English bilingualism is an asset. The role involves no anticipated travel or overtime and will support vulnerability management activities within a large, complex enterprise environment.
The successful candidate will possess at least six years of combined training and progressive hands-on experience in cybersecurity and vulnerability management, including significant expertise with Tenable Nessus. Required experience includes deploying, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing scanning infrastructure; developing and tuning scan policies; applying CVSS scoring and risk-based prioritization; conducting root-cause analysis; and providing remediation guidance across network, endpoint, and cloud environments. The role also requires experience resolving complex security issues, improving scan coverage and fidelity, reducing false positives, supporting incident response, and translating findings into actionable remediation plans aligned with recognized cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and organizational security policies. Strong collaboration with security operations, infrastructure, and application teams, along with experience mentoring junior analysts and engineers, is essential.
