Original job description

Imagine yourself…

Doing meaningful work that makes an everyday impact on the world around you.

Growing your expertise and expanding your skillset with every project.

Contributing to a brighter, more sustainable future.

At Trojan Technologies, you have the power to make it possible.

Trojan Technologies, a Veralto company, plays a vital role in making the various stages of the water treatment process more effective and efficient. Our products and services have applications across municipal wastewater, drinking water, environmental contaminant treatment, and residential water treatment, along with ultra-purification of water used in food and beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical processing and semiconductor applications.

When you join the Trojan Technologies team and the broader Veralto network, you become part of a unique culture where purpose meets possibility: where the work we do makes an everyday impact on the world’s vital water resources, and where you’ll have the power to deepen your skillset, own your ambition, and fuel your career growth.

We offer:

Ongoing investment in your career through dedicated training, on-the-job development, and coaching.

Comprehensive health benefits, a pension plan with employer match, and associate wellbeing programs.

A collaborative professional environment where you can develop practical engineering expertise while contributing to meaningful water-technology projects.

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Development, the Mechanical Prototyping Specialist supports cross-functional technology-development projects focused on evaluating and integrating UVC LEDs and related technologies into water-disinfection systems. You will turn technical requirements and early concepts into working mechanical prototypes, experimental test fixtures, and documented engineering solutions. This is an opportunity to combine mechanical creativity with disciplined design, hands-on building, testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement.

This position is part of the Technology Development team located in London, Ontario, and will be hybrid to support hands-on prototyping, experimental testing, and close collaboration with technical team members.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

Translate technical requirements into practical mechanical concepts, detailed designs, prototypes, test fixtures, and experimental setups.

Data Analysis & Technical Documentation: Analyze test results and develop technical documentation, including CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, reports, and recommendations.

Build, assemble, test, troubleshoot, and refine complex prototypes, mechanical assemblies, and experimental hardware.

Plan and execute technology evaluations and performance tests, analyze the results, and make evidence-based recommendations.

Work with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and multidisciplinary team members to align technical work with project requirements and business priorities.

Improve test methods, engineering workflows, documentation, tools, and knowledge-sharing practices.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or another relevant technical discipline, with at least three years of relevant experience.

Proficiency with SolidWorks, including creating 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and related technical documentation.

Demonstrated experience designing, building, testing, and refining prototype products, mechanical assemblies, test fixtures, or experimental hardware.

Working knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing methods, including additive manufacturing, machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.

Ability to interpret technical requirements and convert them into practical engineering solutions, supported by clear analysis and documentation.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is CAD $70,000 to $95,000 per year. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, and medical/dental/vision insurance to eligible employees.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.

Virtual interviews may be transcribed using an AI-enabled note-taking tool to assist with interview documentation. Hiring decisions are made by human interviewers.

This position is for an existing role within our team.

Trojan Technologies is proud to be part of the Water Quality segment of Veralto, a global leader dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, safe food and medicine, and trusted essential goods. When you join Veralto’s global network, you join a unique culture and work environment where purpose meets possibility: where the work you do has an everyday impact on the resources and essentials we all rely on, and where you’ll have valuable opportunities to deepen your skillset, pursue your ambitions, and grow your career. Together, we’re Safeguarding the World’s Most Vital Resources™ - and building rewarding careers along the way.

At Veralto, we value diversity and the existence of similarities and differences, both visible and not, found in our workforce, workplace and throughout the markets we serve. Our associates, customers and shareholders contribute unique and different perspectives as a result of these diverse attributes.

Unsolicited Assistance

We do not accept unsolicited assistance from any headhunters or recruitment firms for any of our job openings. All resumes or profiles submitted by search firms to any employee at any of the Veralto companies, in any form without a valid, signed search agreement in place for the specific position, approved by Talent Acquisition, will be deemed the sole property of Veralto and its companies.
