TRS is seeking experienced MINING ENGINEERS (Intermediate / Senior) to support a diverse portfolio of mining projects across North America.
This role offers the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams on a range of mining initiatives, including operations support, mine planning, project development, technical evaluations, and continuous improvement programs. Candidates with experience in open pit, surface, and underground mining environments are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, practical operational knowledge, and a collaborative approach to solving complex mining challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review mine plans, production schedules, and mine designs for open pit, surface, and underground operations.
- Support short, medium, and long-range mine planning activities.
- Contribute to project studies, mine development initiatives, and operational improvement programs.
- Analyze mining performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Complete production forecasting, mine optimization, and planning evaluations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with cost estimating, budgeting, and economic evaluations.
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with operations teams to support project execution and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with geologists, geotechnical engineers, operations personnel, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in safety programs and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration.
- Intermediate-level candidates: 5+ years of relevant mining experience.
- Senior-level candidates: 8+ years of relevant mining experience.
- Demonstrated experience in open pit, surface, and/or underground mining operations.
- Strong mine planning, mine design, scheduling, and production engineering experience.
- Proficiency with mining software such as Deswik, MinePlan, Vulcan, Datamine, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting operational improvement, project development, or technical studies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
