Original job description

TRS Staffing is seeking an experienced Refinery Engineer to support facility improvement initiatives, capital projects, and ongoing reliability efforts. Our client is a leading organization in the environmental and industrial services sector, recognized for its commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate engineering documentation, technical records, drawings, and change management records.
Support maintenance and reliability initiatives, including major shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage planning.
Monitor project costs, schedules, and performance, and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable regulations, permits, standards, and company requirements.
Provide engineering support for equipment upgrades, process improvements, troubleshooting, and facility modifications.
Review equipment performance and maintenance programs, recommending improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Coordinate project activities across operations, maintenance, safety, environmental, and leadership teams.
Lead projects from planning through completion, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
Preform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
Experience working in refinery environment is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and project execution.
Experience supporting maintenance, reliability, and operational improvement activities.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
Understanding of regulatory compliance, facility permitting, and engineering standards.
Proficiency with engineering design software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge of industrial equipment and systems, including pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, material handling equipment, and facility infrastructure.
