Position Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0P5

Duration: 6-month (with the possibility of extending up to 9 months if required)

Work Schedule: Mon-Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Executing payroll processing, including approvals, reporting, and adherence to payroll deadlines.
Processing payroll transactions accurately and maintaining payroll records within the Document Management System.
Reconciling payroll-related items including T-slips, EI rebates, WCB assessments, etc.
Managing CRA reconciliations and reporting, Records of Employment, pension plans, retroactive pay adjustments, and garnishments.
Responding to employee payroll inquiries and providing support to internal stakeholders.
Analyzing and optimizing PeopleSoft Payroll capabilities, supporting system improvements, testing system changes, and assisting with upgrades involving PeopleSoft Payroll and JDE.
Collaborating with Timekeepers, Benefits/Disability, Financial Services, Information Technology, People and Culture, managers, and employees regarding payroll procedures, system performance, and process improvements.
Documenting payroll processes and conducting reviews to ensure ongoing effectiveness and compliance.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

Has extensive payroll experience in a large organization, and preferably in a municipal unionized environment.
Experience with various HRIS/payroll systems including Peoplesoft is a strong asset as well as experience working with benefits and pension programs.
