Original job description

Tundra Oil & Gas is a Manitoba-based oil and gas exploration and production company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Winnipeg-based James Richardson & Sons, Limited. Tundra’s head office is in Winnipeg, with additional offices in Virden, Estevan, and Calgary. At Tundra, we believe that our people are the foundation of our success, and we are dedicated to growing our company in a sustainable and disciplined way. This philosophy has served us well since our inception in 1980. Today, Tundra is a team 400-strong, and a leader in the Manitoba and southeast Saskatchewan oil industry. We take pride in supporting the communities in which we operate and stewarding the resources we manage for today and for the future. We are committed to working together and to getting everyone home safe every day.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Contracts Analyst based out of our Calgary office.

This is a senior-level role within Tundra's Land department, supporting the management of mineral land agreements across exploration, development, production, acquisitions, divestitures, and enhanced recovery activities.

The Senior Contracts Analyst will provide expertise in contract interpretation, land administration, ownership analysis, title matters, and regulatory compliance while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role is well suited for an experienced land professional who brings strong technical judgment, sound business acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Land Administration

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve contract administration processes, procedures, templates, and controls to enhance operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
Interpret and administer land agreements and track and manage related contract commitments and obligations.
Resolve routine contract disputes and non-compliance issues; analyze complex disputes and recommend resolutions; coordinate corrective actions; and conduct contract health assessments to identify risks and opportunities and promote contract management best practices.
Support operations, acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects through ownership verification, title review, due diligence, and issue resolution.
Manage and resolve routine partner account matters, including non-payment, defaults, delinquency notifications, collections, and land-related accounting inquiries.
Provide initial Mineral Land Sign Off review and approval for new drills.
Make independent decisions on routine contract administration, dispute, and partner account matters; escalate complex or high-risk issues, including unresolved partner defaults and stalled disputes, to the Manager, Land Administration with analysis and a recommended resolution.
Share contract administration knowledge and serve as a resource for colleagues on practices and processes.

WHAT YOU NEED

Diploma or degree in Petroleum Land Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Law, or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred 10+ years of complex mineral land experience, or equivalent depth of experience, in Saskatchewan or Manitoba, including freehold land, contract interpretation, and land administration.
Demonstrated experience with complex contracts and digital workflows.
Experience with various land agreements. \
Strong working knowledge of CS Land, mail merge, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Membership in CAPL and/or LEMAC is considered an asset.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A senior land professional with strong technical judgment and the ability to apply freehold land, contract, title, ownership, and regulatory knowledge to complex business decisions.
A collaborative partner who can work effectively with interdisciplinary teams across Land, Legal, Accounting, Joint Venture, Surface Land, Production Accounting, Data Analytics, and Strategic Planning.
A practical problem-solver with strong business acumen and the ability to assess risk, analyze complex land and contract issues, and recommend practical solutions.
A strong communicator who can explain complex land matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Someone with strong organizational skills who can manage competing priorities, advance cross-functional initiatives, and deliver timely results in a fast-paced environment.
A detail-oriented professional who values accuracy and data integrity when reviewing agreements, ownership, title, obligations, and land asset information.

OTHER DETAILS:

Based in Calgary, Alberta
Permanent, full-time position

WHAT WE OFFER:

Be part of a proudly Canadian, privately owned energy company and grow your career with Manitoba’s largest oil producer
Enjoy competitive total rewards, including salary, annual incentive pay, long‑term incentives for eligible roles, and employer‑matched RRSP contributions
Comprehensive employer-paid benefits, including a $5,000 mental health benefit, Healthy Lifestyle Allowance, maternity top‑up, paid parental leave, and personal leave
Ongoing learning and development opportunities, including training investments, leadership programs, professional designation reimbursement, engineer‑in‑training programs and company-wide learning opportunities

We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. If your experience is close to what you see listed here, please still consider applying. Diversity of experience and skills combined with passion is a key to innovation and excellence. Therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for our positions.

If you are interested in joining our rapidly growing team, please visit the Careers section of our website at www.tundraoilandgas.com and apply online to submit your cover letter and resume by Friday November 20, 2026.
