Guidewire ClaimCenter Solutions Analyst / Business Systems Analyst

New Direct-to-Consumer Insurance Product Line Build-Out

Estimated Contract Length: 6 months subject to change

Work Type: 2 days on-site in Toronto, Calgary, Winnnipeg, or Montreal, Canada

Pay Rate (CAD): $90.00 to $110.00/ per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire ClaimCenter Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst to support the design, build, and launch of the claims capabilities required for a new direct-to-consumer (D2C) property and casualty insurance product line.

This role will translate business objectives, customer needs, and claims operating requirements into functional solutions within ClaimCenter and its connected digital channels. The scope will span the claims lifecycle, from first notice of loss and claims intake through investigation, settlement, and closure.

Working closely with claims operations, product owners, digital experience teams, solution architects, developers, and testing teams, the successful candidate will help establish the product-specific workflows, data requirements, business rules, integrations, and customer-facing claims journeys needed for launch.

This is a new-product build and implementation role, rather than a position focused primarily on ongoing application support. The individual will contribute from initial discovery and requirements definition through functional design, development support, testing, launch readiness, and post-launch stabilization.

Top Three Must-Haves

Five or more years of direct Guidewire ClaimCenter delivery experience
Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Solution Analyst supporting ClaimCenter implementations, new integrations, enhancements, or modules, with involvement from requirements gathering through functional validation.
Strong P&C claims expertise and functional solution design capability
Demonstrated ability to translate claims operating requirements into system workflows, business rules, data requirements, and functional specifications.
Technical fluency and end-to-end implementation capability
Experience working with ClaimCenter configuration, Gosu-based business logic, data models, and integration patterns, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Line Discovery and Requirements Definition

Lead workshops with claims operations, product owners, digital teams, and technology stakeholders to define the claims capabilities required for the new D2C product line.
Establish the launch scope, customer journeys, claims operating processes, business rules, dependencies, and acceptance criteria, distinguishing first-release requirements from subsequent enhancements.
Assess existing capabilities against the new product’s requirements and identify where functionality can be reused, configured, extended, or integrated.

Product-Specific ClaimCenter Functional Design

Translate the new product’s claims requirements into functional specifications for claims intake, loss information, incidents, exposures, coverage mappings, and associated data requirements.
Collaborate with architects and developers to define the configuration and data-model changes required to support the product, including the appropriate use of ClaimCenter exposures.
Define requirements for retrieving and validating the policy and coverage information needed to assess claims, including applicable coverage dates, limits, and deductibles.

Direct-to-Consumer Claims Intake and Digital Experience

Define product-specific first notice of loss (FNOL) journeys, including questions, required information, validation rules, policy identification, and claim creation requirements. ClaimCenter supports dynamic claims intake integrated with policy search and retrieval.
Work with digital teams to define customer-facing capabilities integrated with ClaimCenter, such as online claim submission, supporting document and photo uploads, claim-status visibility, and customer notifications.
Specify how customers transition between self-service and assisted claims support while preserving information already provided. Coordinate the digital interface requirements with the underlying ClaimCenter processes rather than treating the customer portal as a standalone solution.

Claims Workflows, Business Rules, and Financial Controls

Define claims triage, segmentation, assignment, investigation, escalation, approval, settlement, closure, and reopening requirements appropriate to the new product.
Document requirements for adjuster activities, work queues, service standards, exception handling, and opportunities for automation, including conditions that require manual review.
Define functional requirements for reserves, financial authority limits, approvals, payments, and recoveries, working with claims and finance stakeholders. Account for ClaimCenter’s reserve transaction and approval processes when designing the solution.

ClaimCenter Integrations and Data Requirements

Define integration requirements between ClaimCenter and customer-facing channels, policy-data sources, document management, customer communications, payment services, and relevant third-party claims providers.
Produce interface specifications, data mappings, validation rules, and error-handling requirements in collaboration with integration specialists.
Document claims financial data exchanges and reconciliation requirements with downstream finance systems, including transaction acknowledgments where applicable.

Agile Delivery and Stakeholder Collaboration

Develop and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and decision logs in JIRA and Confluence.
Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, solution walkthroughs, and demonstrations; clarify requirements and resolve functional questions throughout development.
Maintain requirements traceability and communicate scope changes, dependencies, risks, and unresolved decisions to the appropriate stakeholders.

Testing, Launch Readiness, and Stabilization

Develop end-to-end business scenarios covering digital claim submission, claims handling, financial transactions, customer communications, and exception conditions.
Support system integration testing and user acceptance testing, including test-data requirements, defect analysis, prioritization, and functional validation.
Validate that product-specific changes do not adversely affect existing claims capabilities, where applicable.
Support business sign-off, operational procedures, training materials, knowledge transfer, launch readiness, and post-launch issue resolution.

Claims Reporting and Operational Requirements

Define reporting requirements to monitor the new product line’s claims volumes, processing times, outstanding activities, financial performance, and digital-channel adoption.
Work with business, security, and compliance stakeholders to document access controls, customer-data visibility, auditability, and claims-record requirements.

Required Qualifications

Five or more years of experience working directly with Guidewire ClaimCenter as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Solution Analyst.
Demonstrated participation in ClaimCenter implementation or enhancement projects across requirements gathering, functional design, development support, testing, and deployment.
Strong understanding of P&C claims operations, including FNOL, coverage assessment, claims assignment, investigation, reserving, settlement, and closure.
Experience defining ClaimCenter workflows, business rules, data requirements, and functional specifications, with working knowledge of Gosu, configuration concepts, and integration patterns.
Ability to document interface requirements, data mappings, and end-to-end processes involving ClaimCenter and connected systems.
Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and Agile delivery frameworks, supported by excellent documentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a new-product environment where requirements evolve and business and technical decisions must be coordinated across multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting the launch of a new insurance product line or direct-to-consumer insurance offering, particularly the associated ClaimCenter build-out.
Experience integrating digital FNOL, customer self-service, document submission, or claims communications with ClaimCenter.
Three or more years of insurance industry experience, preferably within P&C claims operations or claims transformation.
Relevant Guidewire ClaimCenter certification or Guidewire business analysis certification applicable to ClaimCenter.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$90.00 and CA$110.00
