Scrum Master – Integration Program
About the Role
The Scrum Master will support technology delivery teams working on the integration program. Key technology workstreams include Guidewire Claim Center, integrations, document solutions, and data and analytics.
This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective Agile delivery cadence within assigned workstreams, removing impediments, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching teams on Agile practices, and ensuring delivery risks, status, dependencies, and concerns are appropriately communicated to the broader program.
The Scrum Master is expected to operate with a high degree of independence within a fast-moving and time-sensitive transformation program.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and related team sessions.
- Establish and maintain a consistent delivery cadence across assigned project workstreams.
- Remove impediments and help teams resolve issues that could affect delivery.
- Coach team members on Scrum practices, Agile ways of working, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor progress against sprint commitments, project timelines, and agreed scope.
- Facilitate conversations when planned sprint work is not being completed as expected and help the team establish an appropriate recovery plan.
- Support the management of new or changing scope while protecting critical project timelines.
- Identify and escalate delivery risks, dependencies, blockers, and concerns.
- Provide concise and regular status updates into the broader program governance structure.
- Work closely with project managers, technology leaders, delivery teams, and other program stakeholders.
- Support distributed teams and maintain effective communication across locations and workstreams.
- Operate independently after an appropriate onboarding period without requiring significant day-to-day oversight.
- Help drive continuous improvement in team delivery practices and performance.
The client emphasized that the position is broader than simply facilitating Scrum ceremonies: the Scrum Master must also ensure program stakeholders receive reliable status, risk, timeline, and delivery information.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional Scrum Master experience.
- CSM or PSM certification required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale Agile implementations.
- Experience working with distributed or geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery against tight or fixed timelines.
- Ability to identify risks and impediments early and drive issues toward resolution.
- Ability to work independently within a complex enterprise program.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of insurance industry experience preferred.
- Property & Casualty insurance experience is considered beneficial.
- Previous experience supporting Guidewire or ClaimCenter initiatives is an asset but is not required.
- Experience with enterprise integrations, document platforms, data/analytics programs, or insurance technology transformations would be beneficial.
- Previous experience supporting large acquisition, migration, separation, or system-transition programs would be advantageous.
The client specifically indicated that overall Scrum Master capability should outweigh exact workstream experience. Insurance experience is valuable, while exact ClaimCenter or document-domain experience should not become an unnecessary screening restriction.
