Value Stream Owner – Technology
Our client is seeking a senior Value Stream Owner to lead the connection between complex business problems, executive priorities and technology execution.
This role will partner closely with Principal Engineers and other technology leaders to define problems, establish vision and priorities, build roadmaps and backlogs, align stakeholders and ensure technology initiatives remain connected to measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own business/problem discovery for assigned initiatives.
- Engage stakeholders across business and technology to understand needs, constraints and desired outcomes.
- Clearly define business problems before moving into solution delivery.
- Establish product/value-stream vision, roadmap and priorities.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable work for Engineering.
- Build and prioritize backlogs, epics, requirements and acceptance criteria as appropriate.
- Partner closely with Principal Engineers on solution definition and implementation.
- Communicate recommendations, benefits, risks, implementation approaches and progress to senior and C-level stakeholders.
- Lead alignment across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Work across multiple initiatives as our client expands its modernization roadmap.
- Apply analytical thinking, customer/process understanding and data to decision-making.
- Support Agile planning and continuous prioritization throughout delivery.
Qualifications
- Significant experience leading enterprise products, value streams or technology-enabled business transformation.
- Demonstrated Product Management, Value Stream Ownership, Technical Product Ownership or equivalent senior product/business-technology leadership.
- Strong stakeholder-management capability, including senior executives/C-level.
- Excellent analytical and problem-definition skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into technology roadmaps and executable priorities.
- Experience partnering directly with senior Engineering/Architecture resources.
- Strong written/verbal communication and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to operate effectively across ambiguity, complexity and multiple initiatives.
Assets
- Agile, Lean-Agile, PMP or related certifications.
- Jira/Azure DevOps and product/backlog-management tooling.
- SQL/data-analysis or dashboard experience.
- Experience with customer-facing digital platforms, workflows or enterprise modernization.
