Original job description

Duration: FTE

Location: NJ-Raritan, NJ-New Brunswick, NJ-Titusville, PA-Spring House, or PA-Malvern, Hybrid 1-2 days onsite

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and people-oriented Client Delivery Manager to support a large, strategic enterprise account within our consulting business.

This individual will partner closely with senior account leadership to support the engagement, performance, and retention of approximately 90 consultants working across a complex, global enterprise environment.

The role sits at the intersection of people management, talent assessment, client delivery, and account operations. Success requires an individual who can build meaningful relationships, exercise sound judgment, identify potential challenges before they escalate, and navigate situations where there is not always a clear-cut answer.

We are not looking for someone with a specific professional background. We are looking for someone with the right combination of emotional intelligence, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and organizational discipline who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Consultant Engagement and Delivery Support
    • Proactively engage with consultants to understand their experiences, performance, professional goals, and overall satisfaction
    • Build trusted relationships with consultants, establishing open communication and identifying concerns that may not be immediately apparent
    • Identify and escalate potential retention risks, performance concerns, engagement challenges, or delivery issues before they become larger problems
    • Partner with account leadership to navigate sensitive personnel situations, balancing consultant advocacy, client expectations, and broader business objectives
    • Support consultant onboarding, engagement transitions, and offboarding to ensure a positive and consistent experience
    • Track consultant engagement activities, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to strengthen retention and delivery outcomes
  • Candidate Assessment and Talent Alignment
    • Conduct secondary interviews with prospective consultants to assess communication skills, professional maturity, interpersonal effectiveness, and overall fit for client environments
    • Go beyond resumes and technical qualifications to evaluate an individual's adaptability, judgment, problem-solving approach, and ability to navigate complex organizations
    • Partner with recruiting and account leadership to develop a deeper understanding of client expectations, team dynamics, and individual hiring manager preferences
    • Provide thoughtful, objective, and actionable feedback on candidates, identifying both strengths and potential concerns
    • Develop the ability to recognize what makes an individual successful in different client environments, understanding that technical qualifications alone do not determine fit
  • Account Operations and Coordination
    • Support day-to-day account operations, consultant tracking, reporting, and administrative activities
    • Coordinate consultant check-ins, performance discussions, client feedback, and other engagement-related activities
    • Maintain accurate consultant information, engagement records, and account reporting
    • Prepare presentations, reports, trackers, and other materials to support account leadership and business decisions
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and reduce administrative burden
    • Maintain visibility into consultant assignments, engagement timelines, potential extensions, and upcoming transitions
  • Account Health and Business Partnership
    • Develop an understanding of client organizational structures, key stakeholders, business priorities, and consulting engagements
    • Partner with account leadership to identify potential delivery risks, consultant challenges, and opportunities to improve the client experience
    • Gather feedback and insights from consultants that may reveal emerging client needs, delivery gaps, or additional opportunities to provide value
    • Exercise discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client, consultant, or business information
    • Contribute to a proactive, relationship-driven approach to account management and consultant success
Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of professional experience in a role involving relationship management, client services, recruiting, consulting, business operations, project coordination, or a related discipline
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and credibility with individuals across different backgrounds and seniority levels
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, including comfort navigating situations without clearly defined processes or solutions
  • Ability to assess information, identify patterns, ask thoughtful questions, and make balanced recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including creating professional presentations, organizing data, and developing reports
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise, and actionable insights
  • Professional maturity, discretion, and the ability to receive and apply constructive feedback
  • Experience in a complex enterprise or professional services environment is beneficial but not required
