The Manager, Academic Success & Learner Supports will lead Mathify and a growing portfolio of learner support initiatives that strengthen academic achievement, build confidence, and remove barriers to success. Through this work, the Manager will help shape programs that create meaningful learning opportunities and improve outcomes for learners.

The Role
Reporting to the Director, Academic Services, the Manager, Academic Success & Learner Supports is responsible for the leadership, delivery, and continuous improvement of learner support programs and services, with primary accountability for Mathify and related academic success initiatives.
The Manager oversees program operations, service quality, learner engagement, staff leadership, and program evaluation, ensuring that learner supports effectively advance academic success. Working collaboratively across Education and the broader organization, the Manager ensures services remain responsive, accessible, inclusive, evidence-informed, and aligned with learner needs.
Success in this role requires strong program and people leadership, operational excellence, knowledge of Ontario's education system, and a commitment to ensuring all learners have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive.
How you will make an impact
Academic Success & Learner Supports
- Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of programs that strengthen academic achievement, confidence, engagement, and persistence.
- Develop and implement learner success initiatives that address barriers to learning and improve educational outcomes.
- Use learner feedback, educational research, and program data to inform program design, enhancements, and priorities.
- Guide the development of resources, supports, and interventions that help learners achieve their goals and successfully navigate educational pathways.
- Promote equitable access to academic supports for diverse learner populations.
- Ensure programs reflect best practices in accessibility, inclusion, learner-centred design, and educational quality.
Mathify Program Leadership
- Provide operational and program leadership for Mathify, one of Ontario’s leading academic support services, ensuring a high-quality and accessible learner experience.
- Oversee service delivery, program administration, tutor operations, learner experience, and overall program performance.
- Monitor participation, satisfaction, service quality, and learner outcomes against established objectives and standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives informed by learner feedback, evaluation findings, program data, and emerging practices in mathematics education and learner support.
- Manage budgets, contracts, tutors, vendors, service providers, and operational resources associated with Mathify.
- Support the ongoing evolution of Mathify so that it remains responsive to learner needs, Ontario curriculum expectations, and organizational priorities.
Learner Engagement & Service Accessibility
- Support learner engagement activities that improve awareness of and access to Mathify and other learner support programs.
- Supervise staff responsible for learner engagement functions and ensure activities align with learner success objectives.
- Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, Curriculum, and other internal teams to contribute program expertise, learner insights, and content.
- Support the development of presentations, webinars, information sessions, and learner-facing resources that promote awareness and understanding of available supports.
- Monitor participation trends and learner feedback to identify opportunities to improve accessibility, awareness, and service utilization.
- Ensure engagement activities reflect TVO’s commitment to accessibility, equity, and inclusion.
Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and monitor program performance measures, service standards, and learner success indicators.
- Analyze participation data, learner feedback, program outcomes, and operational information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare reports, recommendations, and briefing materials that demonstrate impact and identify priorities for improvement.
- Monitor emerging practices in learner supports, student success, mathematics education, and academic intervention and recommend opportunities to strengthen programs and services.
- Foster a culture of evidence-informed decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Operations & Resource Management
- Manage program budgets, contracts, procurement activities, schedules, and allocated resources.
- Develop and maintain effective operational procedures, service standards, workflows, and documentation.
- Monitor program risks and implement mitigation strategies to support service quality and continuity.
- Ensure compliance with educational policies, privacy requirements, accessibility standards, and service expectations.
- Support the planning and implementation of approved learner support initiatives and service enhancements.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to staff and program contributors.
- Establish clear goals, priorities, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, learner-centred, and high-performing team environment.
- Support professional growth through coaching, mentorship, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively across Education and the broader organization to advance learner success priorities and organizational objectives.
- Contribute program expertise and learner insights to cross-divisional initiatives and organizational priorities as appropriate.
What you will bring to TVO
Education
- A university degree in Mathematics, Education, Educational Leadership, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field is required.
- A Bachelor of Education degree, Intermediate/Senior Division qualifications in Mathematics, and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers are required.
- Bilingual English and French is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Leadership Experience
- A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in education, mathematics education, learner support services, student success programming, academic intervention, digital learning, or a related field.
- Experience leading programs and services that support learner achievement, engagement, and educational outcomes.
- Experience supervising employees and coordinating multidisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, vendors, and external service providers.
- Demonstrated success implementing program improvements, managing change, and strengthening operational performance.
- Experience collaborating with educators, schools, families, and community organizations in support of learner success objectives.
Functional Capability
- Knowledge of Ontario's education system, curriculum, and learner support environments.
- Strong understanding of learner support services, student success practices, mathematics education, and academic intervention strategies.
- Experience using data, learner feedback, and evaluation findings to guide decision-making and demonstrate program impact.
- Strong project management, planning, organizational, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility standards, and inclusive educational practices.
- Understanding of online and blended learning environments and digital learner support models.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships with diverse colleagues, contributors, and communities.
Sector
- Experience working within publicly funded education, government, Crown agencies, post-secondary education, or not-for-profit organizations is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Ontario’s educational landscape, student success initiatives, learner support services, and diverse learner populations is highly desirable.
