Company Description U-Haul has been a trusted leader in do-it-yourself moving and storage since 1945, serving millions of customers each year across North America. The company operates the largest rental fleet in the industry, including trucks, trailers, towing devices, and a wide network of storage centers. U-Haul also offers moving boxes, packing supplies, and is the largest installer of permanent trailer hitches in the automotive aftermarket. In addition, the company is one of the nation’s largest retailers of propane, supplying alternative fuel for vehicles and backyard grills. U-Haul is focused on providing high-quality products and services at affordable prices to a broad customer base.

Role Description The Storage Center Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Abbotsford. BC, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a U-Haul storage facility. This role includes managing unit rentals, assisting customers with storage needs, processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment. The manager will supervise and support team members, coordinate schedules, and promote excellent customer service at all times. Additional responsibilities include monitoring inventory of retail moving supplies, implementing company policies and procedures, and supporting local marketing and sales initiatives to drive occupancy and revenue.

Qualifications

Experience in customer service and retail or service-oriented environments, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Background in basic operations management, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and facility oversight.
Ability to perform light physical tasks related to storage operations, such as walking the property, opening units, and handling moving supplies within reasonable limits.
Comfort with using computers and point-of-sale systems for reservations, payments, and reporting.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
Prior experience in self-storage, property management, or logistics is an asset.
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in business, management, or a related field is an advantage.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
