Original job description

Construction Project Coordinator

Ultimate Renovations is looking for an organized, detail-oriented and motivated Construction Project Coordinator to join our team.

For over 45 years, Ultimate Renovations has specialized in high-end residential renovations throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. Our projects range from major interior renovations and additions to complete home transformations.

As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will work closely with our Estimating, Sales, Design and Production teams to help prepare projects for construction. A large part of this role will involve reviewing project information, assisting with estimates, coordinating pricing, preparing scopes of work and ensuring project details are organized before construction begins.

This is a great opportunity for someone with construction knowledge who enjoys working with numbers, plans, details and people. You do not need to be an experienced estimator, but you should be comfortable learning how renovation projects are scoped, priced and prepared for construction.

What You’ll Do

Assist with preparing construction estimates and project budgets.
Review drawings, specifications and project information to understand the required scope of work.
Complete material and labour takeoffs.
Request, organize and review pricing from trade partners and suppliers.
Assist with preparing scopes of work and project specifications.
Help identify missing information, scope gaps and potential cost considerations.
Coordinate project information between Estimating, Sales, Design and Production.
Assist with pricing change orders and project revisions.
Maintain estimating templates, pricing information and cost databases.
Review job-cost information and completed projects to help improve future estimating accuracy.
Communicate with trades and suppliers to clarify project requirements, pricing and lead times.
Help organize project documentation and ensure key information is complete before construction begins.
Assist with project setup, job starts and other pre-construction coordination as required.
Continue developing your knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing and costs.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience or education in residential construction, project coordination, estimating, construction management or a related field.
A basic understanding of residential construction methods, materials and sequencing.
Renovation experience would be considered an asset.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable communicating with contractors, suppliers and internal team members.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and an ability to learn construction and estimating software.
Post-secondary education in construction management, architectural technology, engineering technology, estimating or a related discipline would be considered an asset.

The Person We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is organized, curious and eager to learn.

You should enjoy getting into the details of a project, asking questions and making sure information is complete and accurate. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should be comfortable taking ownership of your work and developing your construction knowledge over time.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who aligns with our core values:

Quality Work, Ownership Mindset, Passionate, Growth Mindset, Trustworthy and Positive Attitude.

Why Ultimate Renovations

Salary of $50,000–$60,000 per year, depending on experience.
Comprehensive benefits package.
Opportunity to learn estimating, pre-construction and project coordination.
Work on unique, high-end residential renovation projects throughout Calgary.
Learn from experienced professionals across Estimating, Sales, Design and Production.
Opportunity to grow into greater responsibility in estimating, project coordination or construction management.
Join an established, award-winning renovation company that has been operating since 1979.
A collaborative team environment focused on quality, growth and an exceptional client experience.

At Ultimate Renovations, our mission is to create award-winning transformations.

Our vision is to redefine what it means to be the industry-leading renovator through innovation and an exceptional client experience.

To Apply

Please submit your resume through our careers page.

Once your resume has been received, our team will review your application and reach out to selected candidates for an initial conversation. Candidates moving forward will then be invited for an in-person interview and an opportunity to meet members of our team.

Thank you for your interest in joining Ultimate Renovations.
