Original job description

Founding Growth & Marketing Lead

Toronto · Full-time · Competitive base + performance bonus + equity

About Ultrassure

Ultrassure is building the AI system of work for commercial insurance.

Insurance is a multitrillion-dollar global industry, but much of it still runs on PDFs, spreadsheets, email and legacy software. We build AI-native software that helps insurers, reinsurers, MGAs and brokers turn complex, unstructured insurance data into structured information, automated workflows and better decisions.

Our platform is used by insurance organizations across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. More than $10 billion of premium already flows through the platform.

Our ARR has grown 23× since April, driven by word of mouth, personal connections and a handful of targeted LinkedIn conversations.

We are now looking for our Founding Growth & Marketing Lead to help more insurance organizations discover, understand and adopt Ultrassure.

We are a small, focused team in downtown Toronto. We ship every day, work closely with our customers and care about building useful software.

The Role

You will work directly with our founder and CEO across marketing, outbound and customer relationships.

One day you might turn a customer success story into a campaign. Another day you might reach out to prospective clients, organize a webinar, improve our website or speak with an existing partner about new features.

You will help shape how we communicate, reach new customers and stay connected with the organizations already using Ultrassure.

This is a hands-on role with room to experiment. You should enjoy writing, creating, organizing and having conversations with people. You will see your work reach customers quickly and have meaningful influence over how the company grows.

What You Will Do

Build our marketing presence

Create content for LinkedIn, our website, email campaigns and other relevant channels.
Turn customer stories, product improvements and industry developments into compelling marketing.
Help develop our positioning and explain complex product capabilities in clear, useful language.
Create case studies, presentations, product materials and customer announcements.
Improve website content, landing pages and discoverability through search and AI tools.
Help plan webinars, conferences, product launches and other campaigns.

Start conversations with prospective customers

Research target organizations, decision-makers and relevant industry developments.
Develop and run thoughtful outreach through LinkedIn, email and referral channels.
Test messages and campaigns to learn what generates meaningful conversations.
Coordinate meetings, prepare materials and support follow-up alongside our founder.
Keep our CRM organized and track which activities generate qualified opportunities.

Strengthen existing customer and partner relationships

Stay in regular contact with customers and communicate relevant product updates.
Help organize walkthroughs, feedback sessions and customer communications.
Gather feedback and bring useful insights to the product team.
Develop customer stories, testimonials, referrals and joint announcements.
Help identify opportunities for broader adoption and additional use cases.

Build what works

Use AI tools extensively for research, writing, content creation and workflow automation.
Track results and improve campaigns based on what you learn.
Build practical processes that future marketing and growth hires can use.

What We Are Looking For

We care about your judgment, communication and ability to get things done.

You should have:

Experience in B2B marketing, growth, partnerships, business development or a customer-facing startup role.
Strong writing skills and the ability to make complex ideas clear and interesting.
Confidence speaking with prospective customers, existing clients and senior professionals.
An instinct for good messaging, presentation and content.
Strong organization and consistent follow-through.
Curiosity about AI and a willingness to learn our product deeply.
Comfort using AI tools to improve the speed and quality of your work.
The ability to take an idea from a rough brief to a finished result.
High ownership and comfort working across different responsibilities.
The ability to work from our office at Bay & King in downtown Toronto.
Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

You do not need to have done every part of this role before. You might be a marketer who enjoys customer conversations, a business development professional with strong creative instincts or an early startup employee who has worked across several commercial functions.

We care most about evidence that you can communicate well, learn quickly and make things happen.

Bonus Points

We would be particularly interested if you have experience with:

B2B SaaS, AI, insurance, fintech or other professional industries.
LinkedIn content and targeted outbound campaigns.
Customer marketing, case studies and referral programs.
Website copy, SEO or improving visibility in AI search.
Webinars, conferences and industry events.
CRM systems, marketing automation and campaign reporting.
Design tools and creating polished marketing materials.
Working at an early-stage company.

None of these are individually required.

Why Ultrassure

Real customers and strong momentum

Our ARR has grown 23× since April through relationships, referrals and limited outbound. You will help build the next phase of growth.

Work directly with the founder

You will be close to commercial decisions, customer conversations and company strategy.

A product that keeps moving

Our engineers regularly turn customer feedback into production features within days. You will have new capabilities and customer stories to bring to market.

Meaningful ownership

You will help shape our voice, marketing approach and customer engagement from an early stage, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility as we grow.

Competitive compensation

Competitive base salary, performance-based bonus and meaningful equity in a seed-stage company.

Downtown Toronto

We work together from our office at Bay & King. Gym and squash memberships are included.

How to Stand Out

Show us something you have created or helped grow.

A campaign, LinkedIn post, website, customer story, event, outreach sequence or side project tells us more than a polished resume alone.

Tell us what you were trying to achieve, what you personally did and what happened.

We are looking for someone who brings ideas, follows through and enjoys building.
