ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
SALARY
Starting Salary: $50,000
Who We Are
United Way Winnipeg brings people together to build a stronger, more connected city.
For more than 60 years, we have helped Winnipeggers turn care into action by mobilizing donors, workplaces, volunteers, community partners, governments, and a network of 125+ agencies and programs. Together, this network protects and strengthens the social safety net that thousands of people rely on every year. Every 12 seconds, someone in Winnipeg reaches out to one of these organizations for help.
Our work is about more than raising funds. It is about growing a movement of people who believe they have a role to play in shaping the future of our city. We listen to community, invest in local solutions, build partnerships, and create opportunities for more people to belong, participate, and contribute.
As part of the United Way Winnipeg team, you’ll bring your skills to work that matters. You’ll join a workplace grounded in care, curiosity, collaboration, and accountability, where people are encouraged to learn, contribute, and help move important work forward.
If you’re looking for a role where your work can help strengthen community and grow a movement for a better Winnipeg, we’d love to hear from you.
THE OPPORTUNITY OF THIS ROLE
The Engagement and Communications Specialist plays a key role in advancing two important components of Huddle Integrated Youth Services (IYS): meaningful youth engagement and a strong, consistent brand experience that builds awareness of IYS across Manitoba.
Working closely with the Huddle Backbone Team and youth hubs across the province, this role helps ensure that young people have meaningful opportunities to influence the direction, growth, and delivery of Huddle. The role coordinates Huddle’s province-wide Youth Advisory Council (YAC), supports youth hubs in developing and strengthening their own Youth Advisory Councils, and creates opportunities for youth voices to meaningfully shape decision-making and service delivery.
Alongside youth engagement, the Engagement and Communications Specialist leads communications activities that increase awareness of Huddle and Integrated Youth Services in Manitoba. This includes digital communications, social media, media relations, communications materials, and supporting consistent use of the Huddle brand across the network.
This role is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about youth engagement, community connection, and communications, and who can build trusted relationships while creating clear, accessible, and engaging communications that help more young people and communities understand and connect with Huddle.
