Start your career journey with Univar Solutions! Here you can make an impact on the world around you and accelerate your career in areas that energize and excite you.

About the Position: As an Account Manager, ChemCare at Univar Solutions, you will play a key role in helping industrial, manufacturing, and municipal customers achieve their environmental, sustainability, and operational goals. Working with one of North America's leading providers of comprehensive environmental solutions, you will manage and grow an established territory by delivering tailored ChemCare programs focused on waste management, recycling, reuse, disposal, industrial services, emergency response, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.

This is more than a traditional sales role. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, support zero-landfill initiatives, consolidate vendors, and optimize waste management programs.

By building strong customer relationships and leveraging Univar Solutions' extensive network of environmental service providers, you will help customers solve complex environmental challenges while driving profitable growth for the business.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with existing and prospective ChemCare customers throughout your assigned territory.
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities for ChemCare environmental solutions and services.
  • Conduct proactive customer visits and business reviews, planning activities 1-2 weeks in advance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer needs related to environmental services, waste management, sustainability programs, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Partner with customers to develop customized solutions involving hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, recycling, reuse, disposal, industrial cleaning services, emergency response, and environmental field services.
  • Grow Univar Solutions' environmental services footprint across the Greater Toronto Area through consultative selling and relationship management.
  • Identify opportunities to support customers' sustainability objectives, including waste reduction, vendor consolidation, operational efficiency improvements, and zero-landfill initiatives.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of ChemCare service offerings and effectively communicate the value proposition to decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations, Environmental Specialists, and vendor partners to ensure exceptional customer experience and program execution.
  • Prepare and deliver customer proposals, service agreements, and business reviews.
  • Forecast sales activity and revenue projections on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to manage customer information, opportunities, activity planning, and pipeline development.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitor activities.
  • Participate in customer site visits, facility assessments, and solution development discussions.
  • Support customer retention, contract renewals, and long-term account growth initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Technical Science, Sustainability, or another related field.
  • 3+ years of successful B2B sales experience in environmental services, waste management, industrial services, chemical distribution, manufacturing, sustainability solutions, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell value-added service solutions and manage complex customer relationships.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate how environmental and sustainability solutions support customer business objectives and operational goals.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, waste management practices, industrial services, or sustainability initiatives is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic account plans.
  • Self-motivated and customer-focused, with excellent interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com CRM; Tableau experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of contract management, profitability analysis, and commercial terms.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the GTA.

Why Join ChemCare?
