Reporting to management, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the company’s day-to-day financial activities and acts as a business partner to management. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, maintains effective financial controls, and provides the analysis and insights required to support decision-making, growth, and profitability in a small and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting

Oversee and ensure the accuracy of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Prepare and support monthly and year-end financial close activities.
Facilitate the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses required by management.
Monitor cash flow and liquidity.
Ensure the integrity and quality of financial information.

Financial Analysis & Performance

Analyze financial results, costs, margins, and overall company profitability.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Identify variances, financial risks, and opportunities for optimization.

Business Partner to Management

Provide management with clear and relevant financial analysis to support decision-making.
Assess the financial impact of operational and commercial decisions.
Provide recommendations and act as a financial business partner in supporting the company’s growth.

Controls & Process Improvement

Maintain effective financial controls and support compliance requirements.
Collaborate on audits and the preparation of financial documentation.
Improve and structure financial processes, tools, and systems to support the company’s growth.

Operations, Costs & Foreign Currency

Manage and monitor CAD/USD transactions and assess the financial impact of foreign exchange fluctuations.
Perform reconciliations and follow-up related to foreign currency transactions.
Monitor foreign exchange variances and international payments.
Collaborate with operations to improve financial performance and profitability.

Profile

College or university degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial control, or finance management, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial SME environment.
Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, margins, costs, and profitability.
Excellent analytical skills and strong critical-thinking abilities.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a natural verification mindset.
Ability to quickly understand business operations and their financial implications.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and versatile, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience with CAD/USD transactions and international operations is an asset.
CPA designation or other professional designation is an asset, but not required.

Profil recherché

Formation universitaire ou collégiale en comptabilité, finance, administration ou domaine connexe.
Expérience pertinente en comptabilité, contrôle ou gestion financière, idéalement dans une PME manufacturière ou industrielle.
Solide compréhension des états financiers, de la trésorerie, des marges, des coûts et de la rentabilité.
Excellente capacité d’analyse et fort esprit critique.
Réflexe de vérification et souci élevé de l’exactitude.
Capacité à comprendre rapidement les opérations et leurs impacts financiers.
Autonomie, débrouillardise et polyvalence.
Expérience avec les transactions CAD/USD et internationales, un atout.
