Salary Range: $29.38 to $30.29 per hour
Status: Casual

Client Service Representative I practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Duties

Performing reception responsibilities at the Information Desk and Admitting & Registration
Providing clerical support in the Admitting and Information Desk
Correcting/verifying patient demographics.
Generating revenue by investigating insurance coverage, patient-preferred accommodation, and performing other relevant activities to facilitate optimum revenue generation.
Coordinating unit administrative functions
Ensuring the efficient operation of the unit, within the scope of authority
Performing cross-functional duties, as assigned and/or required
Performing other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned/or required.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Completion of a recognized post-secondary office administration program at the certificate level or equivalent preferred
Minimum one (1) year of recent related clerical experience
Experience working in a healthcare environment an asset
Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
TCS/Payroll experience preferred
Ability to handle difficult patients and/or situations
Maybe required to work in rotating shifts in Admitting/Information Desk
General knowledge of office practices, processes, and procedures
Good data entry/keyboarding skills
Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to produce high-quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
Ability to work effectively and safely when dealing with stressful situations
Knowledge of Emergency Assistance Codes
Experience working in a Microsoft Office software environment
Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred
Previous on-the-job word processing and spreadsheet experience required; experience working in a Microsoft Office software environment as an asset
