Description

The Common Core Program within the Schulich School of Engineering is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Project Support Administrator for approximately 12 months.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Support Administrator will support the planning, design, and initial implementation of a centralized system utilizing SQL databases, Python, APIs, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform tools, workflow automation, and reporting dashboards. The role will focus on improving operational efficiency, information management, document control, workflow approvals, and reporting capabilities across departmental processes.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Supporting the development of a structured SQL database environment to support operational workflows and reporting.
Align the project deliverable with the CAEB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accreditation requirements.
Assisting with SharePoint architecture, including lists, libraries, metadata structures, permissions, and document management practices.
Developing and maintaining forms and user interfaces using Microsoft Power Apps.
Creating automated workflows, approval processes, notifications, and document routing using Microsoft Power Automate.
Writing Python scripts to support automation, data processing, and integration tasks.
Integrating systems via APIs to enable automated data exchange between platforms, supporting connections between SQL, SharePoint, Power Platform, and third-party applications.
Assisting with project planning and scheduling, including sequencing tasks across the project timeline and helping ensure milestones are met.
Align with governance structures related to document control, metadata, retention, versioning, and information architecture.
Support reporting and dashboard development using Power BI and integrated data sources.
Assisting with user documentation, training materials, and coordinating with departments to plan and communicate technology rollouts.
Supporting requirements for gathering, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Technology Management, Data Management, or a related field.
Experience supporting enterprise systems, workflow automation, or information management projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage long-term project timelines and adjust to shifting priorities under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Database architecture and enterprise workflow design.
Low-code automation platforms.
Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and data processing tasks.
Familiarity with API concepts and experience integrating systems for automated data exchange.
Data modeling and normalization.
Metadata strategy and governance.
Reporting and dashboard visualization.
