Examines the impact of law on business decisions and activities. Includes an introduction to the Canadian legal system, the law of contract and the law of torts. Emphasis given to the identification, evaluation, and management of legal risks in a business context. Prerequisite: 30 ch.Minimum qualifications include a master degree in law or a JD/LLB in common law, preferably from a Canadian institution, coupled with one of the following within the last five years:Consideration may be given to applicants possessing an undergraduate law degree in combination with a recognized legal designation. Previous experience teaching law in a university environment will be considered an asset and proof of teaching effectiveness is expected.Interested individuals are asked to provide a covering letter that specifies both the course and section being applied for and includes a current resume, where appropriate proof of teaching experience, and the contact details [email & phone] for three professional references. Information is to be provided via email to the address stated above.PLEASE NOTE: Preference in competition will be to persons holding Right of First Refusal in the course first.
