The Division of General Surgery is seeking a highly motivated and academically driven Surgeon Investigator/Surgeon Scientist with a clinical focus in deceased donor and living donor kidney transplantation with an option to also do adult deceased donor liver transplant. The successful candidate will be expected to provide comprehensive clinical care in Abdominal Transplant Surgery, including participation in the division’s on-call schedule for transplant surgery coverage. The candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and be actively engaged in supporting high-quality, patient-centered care.

Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required; the candidate will lead innovative research and educational initiatives that advance the field of transplantation. The candidate must be eligible for an appointment at the academic rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. They must hold an MD degree, and certification in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the individual must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or its equivalent, and must hold, or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. All candidates must be proficient in English. The candidate must have completed a residency program in General Surgery as well as an Abdominal Organ Transplant Fellowship (or equivalent).
