Canada’s SR&ED program is the country’s largest innovation incentive - over
$3 billion/year in tax credits to more than 20,000 claimants. We're engineering software that scales expert tax consulting across hundreds of clients, delivering precision and scale.
The Role - What You’ll Do
Lead and shape the SR&ED experience end-to-end:
- Systematize SR&ED workflows: Leverage our AI to ingest development data, match against CRA criteria, and prepare draft claims.
- Client consultation: Work with engineering and finance teams to uncover eligible R&D activities and technical uncertainties.
- Narrative and evidence: Write technical project narratives (T661), map employee effort, allocate materials - produce complete, CRA-compliant submissions.
- Audit readiness: Ensure documentation is contemporaneous, structured, and defensible; assist clients during CRA reviews.
- Improve automation: Identify AI/data-driven opportunities - integrations, claim inference models, auto-generation improvements.
- Cross-functional impact: Partner with Ops, Revenue, and Dev teams to align client timelines and funding cycles around product development cadences.
Who You Are
- 2+ years of SR&ED or R&D tax consulting experience (in firms, startups, or internal R&D teams)
- Skilled at unearthing scientific/technical uncertainty and building CRA-endorsed narratives.
- Confident with data pipelines and automation - comfortable with AI support tools
- A detail-oriented architect - ensuring precise documentation, proper employee-time tracking, and audit-ready outputs.
- Effective communicator across engineering, finance, and leadership teams
- Autonomous yet collaborative - able to lead from the front and iterate like a startup
