Original job description

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for leading Timber-Tech Truss's Lethbridge branch toward recovery, growth, and long-term success. Reporting to the General Manager, this role combines hands-on operational leadership with an active, customer-facing presence in the Lethbridge and Southern Alberta building community. The AGM leads branch operations, sales, and staff, and is directly accountable for rebuilding revenue, strengthening builder and contractor relationships, and ensuring the branch runs efficiently, safely, and profitably. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring equal comfort on the shop floor, in the field with customers, and representing Timber-Tech Truss within the local community.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Branch Leadership & Recovery:

Lead the Lethbridge branch's recovery plan, driving measurable improvement in revenue, efficiency, and profitability.
Partner with the General Manager to execute the branch's turnaround and growth strategy.
Act as the General Manager's key operational partner, stepping in to lead the branch in their absence.
Monitor branch performance against revenue, margin, and production targets, and adjust plans as needed.

Sales & Customer Relations:

Serve as a primary customer-facing representative of Timber-Tech for builders,contractors, and developers in the Lethbridge market.
Actively support the Sales leads in creating new business and supporting the team’s existing accounts to rebuild and expand branch revenue.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with local builders, suppliers, and trade partners.
Represent Timber-Tech Truss at industry events, trade shows, and community functions to strengthen the branch's market presence.

Operational Management:

Oversee day-to-day branch operations, supporting the Production Manager, including production, scheduling, logistics, and quality control.
Ensure orders are produced and delivered accurately, on time, and to quality standards.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Team Leadership:

Lead, coach, and develop branch staff across production, sales, and administrative functions.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement and longevity.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of branch talent.
Ensure clear, consistent communication between the branch and head office.

Financial Performance:

Support the General Manager in developing and managing the branch budget and financial targets.
Monitor key performance indicators including revenue, margins, and production efficiency.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.

Community Involvement:

Actively participate in the Lethbridge business and building community, representing Timber-Tech Truss in local associations, events, and initiatives.
Build Timber-Tech Truss's reputation and network within Southern Alberta through community involvement and relationship-building.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 10-15 years of leadership experience, with a strong background in both sales and operations, preferably in building materials, construction, or manufacturing.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and business recovery.
Strong operational and production management experience.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
Established relationships within the Lethbridge / Southern Alberta building and construction industry considered a strong asset.
Active involvement in the Lethbridge community and local business networks considered an asset.
