We're growing our VDC/BIM team! We're looking for a VDC/BIM Manager who is excited about technology, innovation, and finding smarter ways to build. This role calls for someone with the confidence and presence to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and champion VDC/BIM adoption across the organization. You'll also develop and run training sessions to build VDC/BIM capability among project teams, helping raise the bar on how our project teams use these tools day to day. Reporting to the VP of Construction Planning, you'll work closely with our existing VDC/BIM Manager to expand our capabilities and bring VDC/BIM to life across both the Bid and Project Execution phases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with our VDC/BIM Manager to plan, coordinate, and implement VDC processes utilizing appropriate technology platforms through project life cycles.
- Develop, monitor, coordinate, and report on the Pre- Post contract BIM Execution Plan and VDC implementation strategy.
- Oversee a portfolio of projects.
- Understand the owner BIM / Employers Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare model-based deliverables.
- Work with Operations Management team to develop BIM specific scopes of work.
- Have the freedom and creativity to develop project specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and facilities Management.
- Uphold industry BIM standards.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of knowledge exchange databases related to tools, workflows and Urban One standards.
- Manage regional VDC resources and performance review evaluations.
- Collaborate with IT to equip staff with proper hardware and software tools for projects.
- Assist and support the pre-construction team’s use of BIM/VDC for Request for Proposals (RFP), project pursuits, estimating and 4D planning.
- Develop and enforce internal VDC/BIM standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management
- 8+ years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, Modeling, and related technology.
- Experience in leadership role at organization level.
- Resource tracking and forecasting, both personnel and hardware.
- Relevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination works. Preferably with experience in North America BIM standards.
- Advanced experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Revizto, Reality Capture (Cupix & Openspace) is required.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam.
- Passionate about the construction industry and innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent organization, time management skills and attention to detail
- BIM-related training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, BuildingSMART)
