Job Description
- Our client, a leading North American financial institution, is expanding a foundational AI program and is adding a Business Systems Analyst V / Engineering Delivery Coordinator to a growing team of roughly 18 engineering, architecture, product, and business professionals.
- This is a coordination and delivery-continuity role, not a technical build role. You will act as the delivery coordination partner for engineering and architecture initiatives - translating stakeholder direction from working sessions into clear, prioritized backlog items with defined acceptance criteria, keeping planning and execution on track, and maintaining crisp, reliable communication across teams. Familiarity with engineering and architecture terminology is expected; hands-on development is not.
- You will work day to day with Engineering and Architecture, and partner with Product, Security, Operations, and business stakeholders as required. The program is fast-moving and evolving, so the analyst who succeeds here is organized, decisive about what “done” means, and comfortable keeping multiple workstreams visible at once. The team is growing, the mandate is long-term, and the role offers real exposure to enterprise-scale applied AI.
Responsibilities
Backlog & Requirements Management
- Translate stakeholder direction from working sessions into clear backlog items with defined acceptance criteria.
- Maintain a structured, current, and prioritized backlog to support effective planning and sprint execution.
- Document key requirements and decisions in clear, concise artefacts that support execution and continuity.
- Work with product owners to refine, sequence and re-prioritize work across active workstreams.
- Keep backlog items delivery-ready to reduce rework and avoidable delays.
Delivery Coordination & Stakeholder Alignment
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, and business stakeholders to maintain delivery momentum.
- Coordinate meetings, follow-up actions, and decision tracking to ensure timely progression of agreed activities.
- Report consistently on status, risks, dependencies, and decisions to support informed stakeholder action.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve coordination issues and remove impediments to delivery.
- Communicate progress, priorities, and next steps concisely to maintain stakeholder alignment.
Required Skillsets
- Business Systems Analysis - 5+ years eliciting, documenting and managing requirements in enterprise delivery; able to own analysis end to end.
- AI initiative experience - 2+ years supporting AI, GenAI, machine learning or intelligent automation initiatives from definition through delivery.
- Backlog management - Builds and maintains prioritized backlogs with clear, testable acceptance criteria and defined “ready” standards.
- Agile delivery support - Works fluently within sprint cadence - refinement, planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Requirements documentation - Produces concise, execution-ready artefacts: user stories, decision logs, process notes, and requirement summaries.
- Stakeholder coordination - Runs working sessions that end with clear actions, accountable owners, and tracked decisions.
- Risk & dependency reporting - Provides consistent, reliable reporting on status, risks, dependencies and decisions; escalates early and precisely.
- Cross-functional collaboration - Builds credibility across engineering, architecture, product, security, and business stakeholders.
- Engineering & architecture fluency - Comfortable with solution, integration, and architecture terminology; translates between technical and business audiences.
- Communication & facilitation - Writes and presents with precision; keeps distributed stakeholders aligned on scope, timelines, and next steps.
Preferred Skillsets
- Microsoft Copilot Studio - Exposure to building, configuring, or supporting Copilot/agent solutions - directly aligned to the program’s platform.
- Financial services / banking domain - Experience inside a bank or large regulated financial institution, including change and risk controls.
- GenAI and LLM solution delivery - Involvement in pilots or production rollouts of generative AI capabilities, including evaluation and guardrails.
- Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence - Tooling familiarity for backlog, documentation, and reporting discipline.
- Microsoft Power Platform - Adjacent platform exposure that shortens ramp-up on Copilot Studio workstreams.
- Agile / product certifications - CSPO, PMI-ACP, CBAP, IIBA-AAC or similar - evidence of structured practice.
- Large enterprise / matrix experience - Proven ability to coordinate across multiple approval chains and competing priorities.
- AI governance & data awareness - Understanding of privacy, responsible AI, and data-handling considerations in enterprise deployments.
- Change management & communications - Supports adoption, stakeholder readiness, and clear messaging during rollout.
Experience: 5–10 years as a Business Systems Analyst, including 2–3 years on AI initiatives
Education: Undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s) or equivalent combined education and experience
Certifications: None mandatory; Agile, product or business analysis certifications are an asset
Licenses: N/A - must be legally eligible to work in Canada
