Job Description (Client-Facing)
- Our Client, a leading financial institution in Canada, is seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst V for a 1-year hybrid contract in Toronto (4 days onsite).
- This is a long-term project-based opportunity supporting a major vendor integration initiative within Corporate Technology – Treasury domain (50-member team).
- You will work in close partnership with various business and technology partners to implement and integrate QRM platform (or comparable Treasury/ALM platform) aligned to ALM, FTP, and IRR business objectives.
- This role is ideal for a BSA who combines hands-on technology delivery experience with deep QRM expertise and business knowledge of treasury/risk management.
- You will play a critical role in analyzing current state, eliciting and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, creating clear technical diagrams, and ensuring technology solutions meet business needs.
- The client offers extension and conversion possibilities, exposure to enterprise-scale treasury systems, and a collaborative culture focused on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.

Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Collaborate and partner with business lines to analyze current state and gather, analyze, and document requirements related to ALM, FTP, and IRR; provide leadership and guidance to ensure technology solution meets business needs.
- Lead requirements workshops and create artifacts such as data flow diagrams, process models, and message mapping documents.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into technical requirements to support development, testing, and implementation activities.
- Author user stories and acceptance criteria using JIRA and Confluence, maintaining end-to-end traceability.
- Understand and document process flows, data flows, system integrations, and application architectures.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Implement QRM platform by understanding business objectives of Treasury pillars and ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
- Create clear technical diagrams and artifacts that support solution design and delivery using Visio, Confluence, and similar tools.
- Develop and maintain data lineage, catalogs, and control documentation to ensure transparency, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Create source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and integration specifications for QRM-related initiatives.
- Provide support/oversight and guidance in delivery of business and technology requirements with focus on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.
- Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas and critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement.
Testing & Governance
- Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, UAT, and OAT.
- Assist in testing efforts through scenario definition, defect triage, and requirements traceability.
- Develop and maintain governance, requirements, and design artifacts per enterprise technology delivery practices and standards.
- Utilize SQL for analysis across large datasets and demonstrate understanding of big-data concepts.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, and delivery outcomes.
Required Skillsets
- QRM / Treasury Platform Expertise: 3+ years' experience implementing, integrating, or supporting QRM or comparable Treasury / ALM platforms OR proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise system implementations in financial services, risk, treasury, or complex data-intensive environments.
- Large Dataset Analysis: Expert analyzing and reconciling large datasets, investigations to drive business requirements, decisions, and solutions.
- Diagramming & Process Modeling: Strong skills in data flows, system architecture, business process maps using Visio, Confluence, etc.
- AI-Enabled Delivery: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, and delivery outcomes.
- Agile Tools: Experience leveraging JIRA and Confluence to manage requirements, maintain traceability, support Agile delivery, produce project documentation.
- Requirements Translation: Proven ability to translate business requirements and business rules into technology requirements and maintain end-to-end traceability.
- SQL & Data Analysis: Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Data Integration & Testing: Hands-on experience with data integration, system testing, validation methodologies, and process documentation.
- Enterprise Delivery: Expert knowledge of enterprise technology delivery practices and standards including design, development, testing, delivery frameworks.
- Governance Artifacts: Experience developing and maintaining governance, requirements, and design artifacts.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams.
- System Integration: Working knowledge of APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and system integration patterns.
Preferred Skillsets
- Solid understanding of financial products, balance sheet management, and interest rate risk management concepts.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of Tableau and/or PowerBI.
- Experience creating source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and integration specifications.
- Knowledge of data lineage, data governance, and data quality management.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery.
- Deep knowledge of QRM and treasury/risk management processes within a major FI (Schedule 1 or GSIB).
