Job Description (Client-Facing)

Our Client, a leading financial institution in Canada, is seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst V for a 1-year hybrid contract in Toronto (4 days onsite).
This is a long-term project-based opportunity supporting a major vendor integration initiative within Corporate Technology – Treasury domain (50-member team).
You will work in close partnership with various business and technology partners to implement and integrate QRM platform (or comparable Treasury/ALM platform) aligned to ALM, FTP, and IRR business objectives.
This role is ideal for a BSA who combines hands-on technology delivery experience with deep QRM expertise and business knowledge of treasury/risk management.
You will play a critical role in analyzing current state, eliciting and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, creating clear technical diagrams, and ensuring technology solutions meet business needs.
The client offers extension and conversion possibilities, exposure to enterprise-scale treasury systems, and a collaborative culture focused on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.

Experience: 5 to 10 years overall in Business Systems Analysis / Enterprise System Delivery

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

Collaborate and partner with business lines to analyze current state and gather, analyze, and document requirements related to ALM, FTP, and IRR; provide leadership and guidance to ensure technology solution meets business needs.
Lead requirements workshops and create artifacts such as data flow diagrams, process models, and message mapping documents.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into technical requirements to support development, testing, and implementation activities.
Author user stories and acceptance criteria using JIRA and Confluence, maintaining end-to-end traceability.
Understand and document process flows, data flows, system integrations, and application architectures.

Solution Design & Delivery

Implement QRM platform by understanding business objectives of Treasury pillars and ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
Create clear technical diagrams and artifacts that support solution design and delivery using Visio, Confluence, and similar tools.
Develop and maintain data lineage, catalogs, and control documentation to ensure transparency, compliance, and audit readiness.
Create source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and integration specifications for QRM-related initiatives.
Provide support/oversight and guidance in delivery of business and technology requirements with focus on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.
Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas and critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement.

Testing & Governance

Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, UAT, and OAT.
Assist in testing efforts through scenario definition, defect triage, and requirements traceability.
Develop and maintain governance, requirements, and design artifacts per enterprise technology delivery practices and standards.
Utilize SQL for analysis across large datasets and demonstrate understanding of big-data concepts.
Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, and delivery outcomes.

Required Skillsets

QRM / Treasury Platform Expertise: 3+ years' experience implementing, integrating, or supporting QRM or comparable Treasury / ALM platforms OR proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise system implementations in financial services, risk, treasury, or complex data-intensive environments.
Large Dataset Analysis: Expert analyzing and reconciling large datasets, investigations to drive business requirements, decisions, and solutions.
Diagramming & Process Modeling: Strong skills in data flows, system architecture, business process maps using Visio, Confluence, etc.
AI-Enabled Delivery: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, and delivery outcomes.
Agile Tools: Experience leveraging JIRA and Confluence to manage requirements, maintain traceability, support Agile delivery, produce project documentation.
Requirements Translation: Proven ability to translate business requirements and business rules into technology requirements and maintain end-to-end traceability.
SQL & Data Analysis: Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including experience working with large and complex datasets.
Data Integration & Testing: Hands-on experience with data integration, system testing, validation methodologies, and process documentation.
Enterprise Delivery: Expert knowledge of enterprise technology delivery practices and standards including design, development, testing, delivery frameworks.
Governance Artifacts: Experience developing and maintaining governance, requirements, and design artifacts.
Stakeholder Management: Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams.
System Integration: Working knowledge of APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and system integration patterns.

Preferred Skillsets

Solid understanding of financial products, balance sheet management, and interest rate risk management concepts.
Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, PowerShell).
Knowledge of Tableau and/or PowerBI.
Experience creating source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and integration specifications.
Knowledge of data lineage, data governance, and data quality management.
5+ years of experience in Agile delivery.
Deep knowledge of QRM and treasury/risk management processes within a major FI (Schedule 1 or GSIB).

Education: Nice to have: Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance (not mandatory)
