Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Risk Analyst III to join the Credit Exception Management team within a Market Risk and Counterparty Analytics function.
The role focuses on counterparty credit risk analysis, investigation, reporting, monitoring, and exception management across trading and non-trading businesses. The successful candidate will investigate credit excesses, monitor risk exposures against established counterparty credit limits, support policy and process changes, and work closely with risk, trading, technology, operations, and audit stakeholders.

Department / Team Overview

The Market Risk and Counterparty Analytics function is responsible for Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, and Collateral activities associated with trading and non-trading businesses.
The Credit Exception Management team performs activities related to the quantitative analysis of credit risk, policy implementation, and exception management across various trading and non-trading businesses.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of approximately 5 professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Counterparty Credit Risk by investigating and escalating credit excesses at the facility level.
Analyze, measure, and report risk exposures accurately and in accordance with established reporting guidelines.
Ensure risks within assigned portfolios are correctly measured, aggregated, and analyzed against approved counterparty credit limits.
Monitor risk exposures and provide analysis and reporting while adhering to internal standards for violations and production issue escalation.
Investigate and document late or missing reports and related process metrics.
Conduct detailed investigations into risk exceptions, exposures, transactions, and production issues.
Propose, plan, schedule, and support projects designed to improve process efficiency and business support.
Execute infrastructure and process changes related to new or revised policies and procedures.
Support the implementation of new or revised credit facilities, policies, and processes.
Ensure internal control processes are appropriately documented and aligned with governance standards.
Perform quality reviews and assessments of outputs based on established business standards.
Support operational risk management activities, including cross-training, documentation, and audit requirements.

Perform ad-hoc analysis of specific metrics, exposures, and transactions as required by management and stakeholders.
Maintain an understanding of the analytical principles underlying risk management of financial derivatives, including financial modeling considerations for risk purposes.

Must-Have Skills
Financial Products & Counterparty Credit Risk

Strong knowledge of financial products, particularly:
- Derivatives
- Bonds
Strong understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk.
Knowledge of Capital Markets and trading environments.
Ability to understand and analyze complex financial transactions and exposures.

Investigation & Risk Analysis
Investigation is the primary focus of this position.

Strong investigative and analytical skills.
Ability to investigate credit excesses, exceptions, exposures, and transactions.
Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and determine appropriate escalation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to make informed judgment calls on complex issues.

Complex Systems

Experience working with complex systems and vendor systems.
Ability to understand system processes and their impact on risk reporting and exposure management.

Project / Change Experience

Experience performing impact assessments.
Experience drafting business/functional requirements.
Experience supporting testing activities for projects.
Ability to implement or support infrastructure and process changes.
Experience working with technology and business teams on change initiatives.
