About the Opportunity:
The successful candidate will support the accounting and financial management of an assigned portfolio of entities and projects, including:
- Prepare and review monthly bank and loan reconciliations, including related interest calculations.
- Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including A/R, A/P, invoice coding, journal entries, trial balance review, account reconciliations, job costing, and cost allocations.
- Support the management of accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor inquiries, and issue resolution.
- Track and reconcile property/project transactions related to closings and other development milestones.
- Maintain and reconcile letters of credit and other financial instruments, including setup, adjustments, and cancellations.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor project cash flow, including preparing forecasts, funding requests, and analysis of financing and financial instrument utilization.
- Prepare cash calls, distributions, and equity reconciliations.
- Assist with various accounting, reporting, and financial analysis projects as required.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Progress toward a professional accounting designation is considered an asset.
- 3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting, ideally within real estate, property, development, or a related environment.
- Experience working with joint ventures, partnerships, or other shared business arrangements.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, with the ability to identify discrepancies, assess financial impacts, and make sound business decisions.
- Experience with cash flow analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across various levels and functions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with real estate or property accounting software is considered an asset.
