  • Technical Accounting & Compliance: Manage corporate lease accounting schedules in compliance with IFRS 16; lead purchase price accounting for recent acquisitions; oversee the project rollout for IFRS 18 adoption; draft complex technical accounting memos (impairments, AROs, hedge accounting, discontinued operations).
  • Tax & Statutory Reporting: Prepare standalone legal entity financial statements for corporate tax filings, resolving statutory-to-IFRS reconciliations.
  • Audit & Internal Controls: Serve as the primary operational contact for external auditors; evaluate and refine internal accounting controls, workflow efficiencies, and SOPs across the reporting cycle.
  • Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day technical direction, review feedback, and coaching to senior financial analysts.

Target Qualifications & Technical Requirements:

  • Credentials & Education: Active CPA designation required (or international equivalent with strong IFRS experience); Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience within a complex, multi-entity environment under IFRS.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in IFRS 16 (lease accounting), acquisition accounting, multi-entity consolidations, and complex balance sheet reconciliations; hedge accounting and ARO experience preferred.
  • Systems: Hands-on experience with tier-1 ERP platforms (NetSuite, Workday, SAP, or Oracle) and lease management/reconciliation software; advanced Excel skills.
  • Work Arrangement: Ability to work 100% on-site at the corporate head office in the GTA, with extended hours during close and audit cycles.
