· Accurately coordinate and administer payroll functions for hourly and salary employees across Canada and USA on a semi-monthly basis including the preparation, calculation and disbursement of wages, deductions, overtime payments, incentive earnings and garnishments.
· Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure the integrity of employee records by collecting and verifying payroll-related information, including employee information, taxable benefits, sick leave and vacation entitlement, and processing information changes from Dynamics 365 ERP system to the Avanti payroll system.
· Collaborate with Site Operations to ensure integrity of employee timesheet hours are collected from the Dynamics 365 ERP system and uploaded to the Avanti payroll system.
· Assist with expatriate payroll activities where required.
· Process and administer benefits and RRSP and prepare related billings to Manulife.
· Calculate, reconcile, and process related payroll remittances (including WSIB) in a timely manner.
· Ensure the accurate creation and timely submission of ROEs as required.
· Prepare standardized Year End/New Year reports (T4, T4A, and T2200), ad-hoc reports, journal entries and accruals, and assist in annual audits as required.
· Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer inquiries from employees and government agencies regarding payroll and related policies and procedures across Canada and USA.
· Complying with federal and provincial legal requirements by remaining updated on legislation, applying necessary changes to processes to ensure adherence to requirements, and advising management on required actions.
· Perform other duties as may be assigned.
