SETUP: 5 days/week in office, in North York, ON
START DATE: ASAP
CONTRACT: 12 months
Responsibilities:
- Prepares year-to-date financial reports for regional governments.
- Prepares quarterly reports, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Prepares annual grant utilization reports.
- Assists with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements.
- Conducts variance analysis of the monthly general ledger and financial statements.
- Performs revenue recognition and funds analysis and completes government documents.
- Maintains year-end audit schedules.
- Assists Managers with budget submissions to regional governments.
- Prepares annual returns, including the Charity Information Return.
- Completes GST returns semi-annually.
- Prepares and posts payroll journal entries.
Skills and Experience Required
- 5+ years of experience in full cycle accounting
- Accounting designation (or near completion of one)
- NPO industry experience is an asset (not a must have)
- Strong MS Excel skills.
