Job Summary
Our client, a well-established professional organization in Toronto, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Budget to join its finance team. This position will deliver high-quality financial analysis, support budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and provide accurate and insightful financial reporting to business stakeholders.
The role will also play an important part in enhancing reporting processes through Jet Reports, automation, and AI-driven tools, helping improve financial insights, efficiency, and data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for designated departments, including detailed cost analysis and financial review.
- Analyze monthly financial results and provide meaningful commentary on variances against budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
- Prepare financial reports, management reporting packages, and presentations for internal stakeholders and related entities.
- Design and develop dynamic and automated financial reports using Jet Reports.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting.
- Support year-end internal and external audits, including preparation of working papers and supporting documentation.
- Partner with departments and stakeholders to provide financial insights that support business decision-making.
- Participate in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
- Leverage AI-driven solutions, automation, and advanced reporting tools to improve financial analysis, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy.
Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Canadian CPA designation required.
- Approximately 6 to 9 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and complex financial analysis.
- Experience with financial and reporting platforms such as Business Central, Jet Reports, Prophix, and Concur is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong experience working with budgeting and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
