Senior Financial Analyst

Senior Financial Analyst – 6 Month Contract

Responsibilities

· Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports.

· Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

· Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor cash management activities.

· Support annual budgeting, capital budgets, and financial planning.

· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial transactions.

· Prepare government funding reports, GST/HST filings, and rebate submissions.

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies.

· Lead year-end audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.

· Partner with operational teams to support financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

· Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.

Requirements

· University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

· CPA designation or actively pursuing designation preferred.

· 5+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.

· Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close.

· Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

· Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.

· Experience with government funding and reporting considered an asset.

· Ability to successfully complete a background check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, where required.
