About the Opportunity

Financial Reporting & Consolidations

• Oversee consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities in accordance with ASPE.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review complex accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Provide financial insights to senior leadership.

Accounting Operations & Controls

• Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, and governance.
• Coordinate annual audits and support tax compliance.
• Drive process improvements and standardization across finance.

Business Support & Strategy

• Partner with senior leadership on strategic decisions and financial planning.
• Provide analysis on development projects, investments, and corporate initiatives.
• Support special projects, systems enhancements, and organizational growth.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and develop a team of 3–4 accounting professionals.
• Oversee the Accounting Manager, Senior Property Accountant, Staff Accountant(s), and AP Supervisor.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with the VP, Finance & Treasury on departmental priorities and objectives.

About You

• Candidates must possess a CPA or ACCA designation
• Minimum of 7-8 years of progressive experience, including experience at the Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller level.
• Real estate or construction development experience is required, along with demonstrated financial statement consolidation experience.

Compensation

$125,000 - $140,000 / year + 15% performance bonus + 3% pension
