Payroll Specialist

Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Consultant for a 6-month contract to assess its existing payroll functions, identify inefficiencies and risks, and recommend improvements to payroll processes, controls, and overall operations.

Job Description

• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing payroll functions, processes, and procedures.
• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and potential risks within payroll operations.
• Develop recommendations to improve payroll processes, strengthen controls, and mitigate identified risks.
• Present findings and communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Develop implementation strategies to support recommended improvements, including evaluating potential payroll outsourcing options.
• Lead payroll audits and assess payroll processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the implementation of recommendations to improve payroll efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of experience assessing, analyzing, and improving payroll functions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience leading payroll audits.
• Experience with Workday is a strong assest.
• Public sector experience is considered an asset.
