Join Our Team as a Mechanical Design – Processing!
Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design – Processing to join our team. In this role, you will support the development of automated manufacturing systems by defining processes, developing layouts, performing cycle-time analysis, and translating product requirements into effective manufacturing solutions.
What You’ll Get To Do
- Define, analyze, and maintain product and process information throughout the processing phase of projects.
- Develop system and zone layouts using AutoCAD, Inventor, Factory Design Utilities, and other applicable design tools.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including product flow charts, PLPs, weld studies, Sequence of Operation Sheets, and time studies.
- Evaluate machine and operator cycle times and identify opportunities to improve process efficiency.
- Support the development of welding, joining, material handling, and assembly processes for automated manufacturing systems.
- Track and communicate process and product changes, including their impact on system design, timing, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with Mechanical Design, Controls, Simulation, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure processing requirements are effectively incorporated into the overall system design.
- Participate in PFMEA, reliability and maintainability reviews, design reviews, and other project-related technical meetings.
- Prepare processing documentation and technical materials for internal and customer meetings.
- Support project activities through the design, build, integration, and commissioning phases as required.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, process development, or automated manufacturing systems.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with process development, mechanical design, and the design or construction of automated welding, joining, or assembly equipment.
- Design Software: Working knowledge of CAD and PDM tools, including AutoCAD and its Plant 3D Toolset, NX Layout, Inventor, Factory Design Utilities, Teamcenter, or similar mechanical design and data management software.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of automated manufacturing equipment, production processes, tooling, and system integration.
- Problem Solving: Ability to analyze technical requirements, identify potential process challenges, and develop practical solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional project teams.
- Organization: Ability to manage changing priorities, maintain accurate technical documentation, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Travel to the USA may be required.

The expected hourly compensation for this position is $28.00-37.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
