Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a
Mechanical Designer to join our Body in White (BIW) division in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where we design, build, and integrate automated welding and joining production systems for the automotive and commercial truck industries. What You’ll Get To Do
- Create and revise 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings in alignment with customer specifications and project requirements.
- Design customized tooling, fixtures, and automated equipment for Body in White welding, joining, and assembly applications.
- Estimate design hours and plan deliverables from concept through to design release.
- Develop creative, functional, and cost-effective mechanical solutions that meet customer and project requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations, select appropriate materials and components, and ensure designs meet functional, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external design teams to produce complete and accurate drawing packages.
- Participate in design reviews and work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Support the manufacturing, integration, installation, and commissioning phases, ensuring designs perform as intended on the shop floor and at customer sites.
What We Are Looking For
- Education & Experience: Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant mechanical design experience. Experience in automotive automation, tooling, or Body in White applications is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, NX design software, Teamcenter, or similar 3D/2D design software and PDM tools. Knowledge of GD&T, mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and component selection.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or automated equipment for welding, joining, material handling, or assembly applications is an asset.
- Innovation & Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and creatively to develop practical solutions to complex mechanical design challenges.
- Team Players: Collaborative professionals who thrive in multidisciplinary teams and fast-paced project environments.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Travel to the USA may be required.

The expected hourly compensation for this position is $28.00-37.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
