Lead Hand

Van Isle Windows Ltd. is seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Hand to join our Installation team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is punctual, reliable, and enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing things right, and enjoys mentoring and training others in all aspects of window and door installation.

With our factory based in Victoria, BC, we are the largest local manufacturer and installer of quality vinyl windows and patio doors on Vancouver Island. We have proudly served Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands since 1978.

We not only deliver locally built, custom-made windows and patio doors, but also provide our customers with exceptional service. Our team values hard work, safety, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture, and we are looking for a like-minded individual to join our Installation team.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on installations alongside your crew
• Oversee installations from start to finish, ensuring adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures
• Communicate job duties, set expectations, plan work, and monitor and assess results
• Provide coaching and training on job sites when required
• Foster cooperation and collaboration within the team
• Ensure best practices are followed
• Follow all safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Valid BC driver’s license in good standing
• Knowledge of materials handling and construction site safety
• Reliability and a strong team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to follow all safety guidelines
• Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs
• Comfort working at heights, including on ladders and scaffolding
• Strong customer service skills and a professional manner when interacting with customers

What We Offer

• Location: Nanaimo, BC
• Position Type: Full-time, permanent
• Hourly Wage: $34 to $38 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; hours may vary depending on the season and project needs, with occasional weekend work required
