Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As an Affordable Housing Program Manager, you will work closely with senior leadership to advance Vancity’s Affordable Housing Strategy by creating pathways for more members and communities to access affordable, stable, and inclusive housing. You will build strategic partnerships, generate housing market insights, identify innovative opportunities, and support initiatives that strengthen housing outcomes while delivering business and community impact. This role is ideal for a collaborative and strategic professional who is passionate about affordable housing, community development, partnership building, and turning ideas into scalable solutions that create lasting impact.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Director, Co-Ops and Local Economy. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands

How You'll Make an Impact:

Translating complex housing initiatives into compelling and accessible content for internal and external audiences

Supporting leadership presentations, Board materials, executive briefings, and external engagement opportunities

Designing, piloting, implementing, scaling, and evaluating affordable housing initiatives, partnerships, financing pathways, and delivery models

Maintaining a pipeline of housing innovation opportunities from concept through implementation and business integration

Monitoring initiative performance and recommending opportunities to strengthen, scale, redesign, or retire programs based on outcomes and strategic alignment

Building and managing relationships with non-profit housing providers, developers, public sector organizations, intermediaries, and community partneConnecting internal business partners and external stakeholders to advance affordable housing projects and initiatives

Conducting research on housing markets, policy developments, financing models, and emerging solutions to support strategy development and decision-making

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, Community Development, Real Estate, Commerce, or a related discipline

5+ years of experience in affordable housing, community development, impact investing, strategy, housing policy, real estate, economic development, or a related field

Experience building partnerships across non-profits, government, community organizations, developers, or private-sector stakeholders

Strong knowledge of affordable housing ecosystems, housing policy, financing models, and community impact initiatives

Demonstrated experience researching, analyzing, and synthesizing complex information into actionable recommendations

Experience developing business cases, strategic recommendations, presentations, and executive briefing materials

Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and relationship management skills

Excellent communication and storytelling abilities with the capacity to influence a diverse range of audiences

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

Experience working with affordable housing financing, impact capital, community investments, or social finance initiatives

Experience within financial services, credit unions, government, or the non-profit housing sector

Familiarity with housing development, co-operatives, public-private partnerships, or community infrastructure projects

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $108,500 to $140,500 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
