Our Story & Purpose:

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Branch Manager, you will lead branch operations, optimize member experience, and drive business development through exceptional people leadership and strategic execution. You will oversee operational planning, staff development, community engagement, and financial performance, ensuring members receive high‑value financial advice and services that support their long‑term well‑being. This role is ideal for a collaborative, community‑driven leader who thrives in dynamic environments and inspires teams to deliver excellence.

This is a Full‑time, Permanent role based at our West End Community Branch (Branch 47) and will report directly to the Senior Regional Director, Inclusive Banking.

How You'll Make an Impact:

Delivering on financial objectives and performance targets for the branch
Developing, coordinating, and monitoring branch activities to ensure high‑quality service delivery
Building branch visibility and brand awareness to strengthen community presence and drive business growth
Leveraging Vancity’s full suite of products and services to meet member needs
Coaching and guiding staff to achieve excellence in advice, service, and member experience
Analyzing operational processes to identify efficiencies and areas for continuous improvement
Supporting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and member‑centric service
Diagnosing operational or member‑related issues and identifying effective solutions

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

Minimum 3 years of people‑management experience in a financial services environment
Minimum 2 years of business development experience with demonstrated measurable outcomes
At least 5 years of overall experience in the financial industry or a related field
Strong business acumen and applied knowledge of financial products, advice, and service delivery
Advanced knowledge of Vancity products, policies, procedures, systems, and tools
Advanced understanding of Vancity strategies, functions, and programs
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

Completion of IFIC or CSC
Completion of three CFP‑eligible courses
Completion of Vancity‑aligned coaching modules

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

A Strong People Leader – You inspire, mentor, and support your team to reach their full potential.
A Strategic Planner – You proactively organize, prioritize, and coordinate branch activities.
An Effective Communicator – You communicate business objectives clearly and model strong member‑service behaviours.
A Decisive Problem‑Solver – You confidently assess risk and identify solutions that balance member impact and business needs.
Analytical and Insight‑Driven – You evaluate branch performance and identify areas for operational improvement.

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

What You’ll Earn:

The salary range for this role is $108,500 to $134,085 per annum. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

A career at Vancity is more than just a job, you’re joining a tradition of change-makers who are creating lasting change for our communities. Beyond base pay, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package to ensure our employees are empowered to thrive:

Living Wage Employer: We’re the largest private-sector Living Wage Employer in Canada and consistently ranked among Canada’s Top Employers.
Customizable Benefits: Permanent employees receive flexible benefit packages that can be tailored annually to meet evolving needs.
Generous Vacation: New employees start with 3-4 weeks of vacation per year, with additional days earned over time.
Extra Stat Holidays: In addition to BC’s 11 statutory holidays, we offer 2 extra days, plus care days for personal or family illness.
Immediate Health Coverage: Health and dental benefits begin on your hire date, with three levels of coverage to choose from.
Defined Benefit Pension: Our retirement plan provides a guaranteed income for life, recognizing that retirement looks different for everyone.
