Expected Start Date: Typically 2-3 weeks after offer has been accepted.
Accountability: Reporting to Senior Manager, Data & Innovation.
Salary: $67,100 annually, plus pension and a generous, comprehensive benefits package that includes dedicated funds for professional development.
Hours of Work: 35-hour work week, Monday – Friday. For most of us, most weeks we work a 32-hour week Monday to Thursday.

About the Position
The Coordinator, Data & Innovation supports the Information Technology team by improving how Vancouver Foundation uses data and AI across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data & Innovation, the Coordinator has business analysis skills to support both the Data Program and the Responsible AI Enablement Program. This non-technical role sits at the intersection of data governance, ethical AI, and change management. This role also supports training and capacity-building efforts that advance data literacy and help foster a data-driven culture across the Foundation. The Coordinator assists with AI-related initiatives, including tool research, business process mapping, and requirements gathering to ensure emerging technologies are used ethically and responsibly.
The Coordinator, Data & Innovation will act as a trusted partner to departments across the Foundation, helping teams understand and adopt data and AI-related policies, processes, and best practices. This role contributes to organizational efficiency and staff empowerment by strengthening systems, clarifying workflows, and supporting cross-team communication, thereby reflecting Vancouver Foundation’s commitment to responsible data practices, operational excellence, ethical & innovative experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Data Program Support
- Work closely with IT's Data & Innovation Team to execute the Foundation-wide Data Program, coordinating related activities including stakeholder interviews, classification training, use case prioritization, and data quality initiatives.
- Aid with data remediation and classification initiatives across the organization and support Data Stewards with department-specific activities.
- Aid in the development, maintenance, and understanding of consistent and reliable classifications and definitions for data and/or metrics used in internal and external reporting and analysis.
- Support the Senior Manager, Data & Innovation with the Data Governance Council and Data Working Group, including maintaining documentation, taking meeting minutes, and coordinating action items.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve business processes, data management practices, and operational efficiency through the responsible use of data, automation, ethical AI, and other emerging technologies.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and business process reviews to gather, document, and analyze requirements.
- Document current-state and future-state processes to support recommendations and informed decision-making and prioritization.
- Support vendor relationships by serving as a key liaison between the Foundation and third-party vendors, helping coordinate deliverables, timelines, and communications.
Responsible AI & Innovation
- Support the organization-wide Responsible AI Enablement Program and coordinate related activities, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and governance requirements.
- Coordinate AI pilots in partnership with IT's Business Solutions Team, including coordinating timelines, gathering requirements, mapping business processes, engaging stakeholders, and tracking outcomes.
- Support organizational adoption of data and responsible AI initiatives through communications, stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and change management activities.
Program Coordination & Capacity Building
- Maintain project documentation, coordinate action items, and track and report on KPIs related to data and innovation initiatives.
- Help foster a data-driven culture across the Foundation through data literacy initiatives, educational materials, training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
Other Duties as Assigned.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, data, technology, or related roles, ideally within the social sector.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements, documenting processes, and coordinating initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong experience with M365, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and Copilot. Experience with Purview is an asset.
