Original job description

Your Role

Reporting directly to senior management, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the sound financial and accounting management of the company. The ideal candidate must be equally comfortable with day-to-day operations, financial analysis, and providing strategic support to senior management in their decision-making.

This is an operational and influential role in a dynamic manufacturing environment where projects evolve rapidly.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the entire accounting cycle and ensure the accuracy of financial information;
Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements;
Monitor budgets, financial forecasts, and variances;
Manage and forecast cash flow;
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations;
Track production costs, cost of goods sold, and vehicle profitability;
Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators;
Produce analyses that enable management to better understand the company’s performance and profitability;
Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial projections;
Monitor inventory levels and ensure their proper accounting treatment;
Oversee payroll processes and government reporting requirements in collaboration with the relevant departments;
Coordinate year-end closing procedures with external accountants;
Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes;
Participate in the improvement and automation of management tools and administrative processes;
Support management in growth initiatives and major financial decisions.
Support department managers in developing, continuously updating, and monitoring their budgets, ensuring they have all the necessary data to make informed decisions.

Profil

Above all, we are looking for an independent, detail-oriented, and solution-oriented individual who enjoys understanding the operations behind the numbers.

College degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
Relevant experience as a controller, assistant controller, or in a similar role;
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle;
Solid financial analysis skills;
Excellent proficiency in Excel;
Experience in a manufacturing environment: a significant asset;
Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management: an asset;
Knowledge of Zoho or an ERP/CRM environment: a plus;
CPA designation: a plus, but not required;
Ability to work in a growing small-to-medium-sized business where you must be both strategic and highly hands-on;
Fluent in French; functional English to communicate with certain partners, suppliers, and customers outside Quebec.
