Platform Operations Engineer – Monitoring, Automation & Security
- Cambridge, ON (4 days on-site, 1 day/week remote)
- Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Must Haves
- Datadog
- Node-RED / JavaScript and Directus
- xMatters (or a similar incident alerting platform)
- Python scripting and automation
- Trellix endpoint protection and Zscaler
- SSL certificate lifecycle management
- Cyber security controls and incident response
- Strong project management and prioritization skills

What we're looking for
We’re looking for a hands-on platform operations engineer to join a team supporting a diverse, integrated technology stack. This isn’t a single-specialty role. You’ll work across monitoring, integration and security tools, balancing incidents, problem management and project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain monitoring, dashboards and alerting in Datadog
- Manage incident alerting, on-call scheduling and escalations in xMatters
- Build integrations and automated workflows using Node-RED (JavaScript), Directus and Python
- Administer endpoint protection (Trellix) and secure access policies (Zscaler)
- Own the SSL certificate lifecycle: issuance, renewal and troubleshooting
- Work with corporate Cyber Security on controls, monitoring and incident response
- Handle incidents, problems and project deliverables at the same time
- Use automation (PowerShell, Ansible) and AI tools (Copilot, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to speed up scripting, troubleshooting and documentation
- Take part in after-hours and weekend support

Responsibilities

Strong project management, prioritization, adaptability, initiative, and the ability to support a broad technology stack are also expected.
