Company Description

Headquartered in Montreal, Detroit and Munich, Vention helps manufacturers automate their operations in record time with the only hardware and software AI-powered platform built for the factory floor. Our technology powers over 25,000 machines across 4,000 factories across 5 continents and we have the privilege to work with a significant proportion of Fortune 500 manufacturers, from space rockets, to electrical cars, to robotics.

At Vention, you’ll work alongside driven and talented people who care deeply about their craft and the impact they create. We’re a team of high achievers who grow through meaningful work, solving complex challenges, learning fast, and seeing the results of our efforts every day.

We move quickly and aim high, but we do it together with care, collaboration, and respect. Our culture celebrates diverse perspectives and supports your growth through intentional development, strong leadership, and opportunities to make a real difference.

What You’ll Do

Strategic logistics contracts

Review existing logistics contracts (freight, LTL/FTL, parcel, ocean/air, customs brokerage, 3PL, warehousing) for cost, service levels, liability and risk gaps.
Lead end-to-end sourcing events: RFI/RFQ/RFP design, bid analysis, total cost of ownership modeling and award recommendations.
Negotiate long-term MSAs, rate agreements and SLAs, including fuel surcharges, accessorials, KPIs, penalties and exit clauses.
Manage contract renewals and the contract lifecycle with Legal and Finance.

Partnership with Logistics

Work side by side with the Logistics team to understand network needs, volumes, service pain points and most importantly act as a business partner for supporting the function.
Turn operational requirements into sourcing strategies and contract terms that hold up in practice.
Run quarterly business reviews with key carriers and providers

Supplier base development

Map, qualify and onboard new logistics providers to reduce dependency and improve coverage.
Build supplier performance scorecards and drive improvement plans.
Identify supply risks (capacity, financial health, geography) and set up mitigation plans.

Other strategic categories

Apply the same category management approach to other high-impact categories as priorities shift.
Build multi-year category strategies with clear savings and risk targets.

What You Bring to the Table

5+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, with at least 2 years managing logistics or transportation categories (ideally in international logistics).
Proven record negotiating multi-year MSAs and rate agreements with carriers, 3PLs or freight forwarders.
Strong grasp of logistics cost drivers: lanes, modes, accessorials, fuel, Incoterms and service-level design.
Solid financial and analytical skills: TCO models, should-cost, spend analysis, advanced Excel or BI tools.

Nice to have

Category experience beyond logistics (e.g. direct goods, packaging, facilities).
Certification such as CPSM, CIPS or APICS/ASCM.

What We Offer

Career pathing: Real opportunities to grow through personalized development plans, bi-annual employee reviews, and mentorship program
Professional development: Continuous training in performance management, inclusive leadership, leadership operating model, team building, and giving/receiving feedback
