About the Role
Ventum Financial Corp. is seeking a collaborative and results-oriented Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Talent team. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing both strategic and hands-on support across the employee lifecycle.
The HRBP will partner with business leaders to deliver talent solutions that support organizational goals while enhancing the employee experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, organizational change initiatives, and HR technology optimization.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, talent development, workplace accommodation, and health and safety matters.
- Partner with leaders to address workforce challenges and provide practical, business-focused HR guidance.
- Support organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and change management initiatives.
- Interpret and apply employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, candidate screening, interviewing, offer preparation, background checks, and onboarding.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
- Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure successful integration of new employees.
Performance, Talent & Employee Experience
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of performance management and talent development programs.
- Coach leaders on performance conversations, employee development, and career progression.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, surveys, and action planning.
- Support learning and development programs that enhance leadership and employee capability.
Compensation & HR Programs
- Participate in annual compensation review and incentive processes.
- Assist in the administration of salary structures, market benchmarking, and compensation programs.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of Talent policies, programs, and processes.
HR Operations & Systems
- Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of employee information within HR systems.
- Support HRIS administration, process automation, reporting, and data analysis.
- Generate metrics and insights to support talent-related decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the overall effectiveness of Talent operations.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in special projects, including organizational changes, integrations, and HR transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Talent programs, policies, and practices to support business objectives.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 1 year in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, or comparable advisory role.
- Experience supporting financial services environment is considered an asset.
- CHRP designation completed or actively pursuing designation.
- Experience supporting organizational growth, transformation, or M&A activities is an asset.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS platforms; ADP Workforce Now experience is considered an asset.
- Experience administering performance management and talent management systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
