Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Dispatchable Field Service Representative, you’ll be on the front lines providing operations and maintenance expertise on water treatment systems for our customers from one of a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on a variety of technologies focusing on ultrafiltration (UF) but including, media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de-oxygenation and electro deionization.

Key Characteristics

Conduct maintenance and calibration activities on various treatment plant instrumentation
Consult with customer management and operation teams
Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications
Monitor and optimize equipment performance
Install and provide maintenance activities on various UF membrane configurations
Provide excellent mechanical know how and problem-solving skills

Duties & Responsibilities

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process and controls on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors pumps, blowers, instrumentation, chemical injection systems and automation hardware
Create and maintain site paperwork, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed
Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts
Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems
Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements
Review customer plant installations and compare against WTS reference drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics, general arrangement, etc.)
Train customer operators around operation and maintenance of their system
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams
Provide customers with informal training around operation and maintenance of their system

Education & ExperienceRequired:

High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment
Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to travel frequently from Canada to the U.S.

Preferred:

Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation
Duel Citizenship (US / CAN) is preferred.

Working Conditions

80% Travel

Compensation: The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $30 - $43/hr.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize customer water treatment systems, including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, instrumentation, chemical injection, and related mechanical, electrical, process, and control equipment. Conduct analytical testing, maintain site documentation and parts inventory, ensure contract specifications are met, and train customer operators.

Requirements

A high school diploma, GED, homeschool certification, or international equivalent and at least two years of service, maintenance, or equivalent industrial experience are required, along with a valid driver’s license. Frequent travel between Canada and the United States is required; a STEM degree or technical certificate in instrumentation and dual U.S./Canadian citizenship are preferred.
