Veritree And Job Overview

veritree is an award-winning climate tech start-up based in Vancouver. Launched in 2021, our technology measures and verifies the impact of global restoration efforts from the ground up. We are on a mission to plant 1 billion verified trees by 2030, collaborating with businesses, planting organizations, and consumers who believe in the transformative power of verified restoration projects to create real and meaningful impact for the planet, nature, and people.

veritree is seeking a Director, Marketing to lead the programs that take our offering to market and turn attention into pipeline and revenue. This role owns four areas: product marketing, full-funnel campaigns, co-marketing with our existing clients, and events. You will set the strategy for each, lead the people who run them, and be accountable for the pipeline, revenue, and retention they produce.

This role is ideal for a hands-on marketing leader with B2B SaaS or climate tech experience who enjoys both building the plan and getting close to the work. You will work hand in hand with our Head of Content and Creative Services so that ads, campaigns, decks, and other materials come together and are put to full use. You will also collaborate closely with our Forest, Customer Success, Outbound, and Sales teams.

6 Month Key Outcomes (6mKOs)

  • Our story is sharp and in use. Veritree's positioning, messaging, and ICP are refreshed and adopted across Sales, with a messaging framework, launch playbook, and enablement library the team relies on every day
  • Inbound is a growth engine. Integrated campaigns are bringing new buyers to us, with defined funnel stages, targets, and lead handoffs agreed with Sales. Marketing-sourced qualified pipeline is growing month over month, with clean attribution in HubSpot to show what's working
  • The 2027 plan is built and funded. An approved 2027 marketing roadmap and budget covers campaigns, cadence, Content and Creative Services support, and an H1 events plan where every event is tied to pipeline or customer goals
  • Co-marketing is live. A repeatable co-marketing program is running with our clients, with at least one joint campaign launched alongside Customer Success and a clear link to retention and expansion

12 Month Key Outcomes (12mKOs)

  • Marketing is a predictable growth driver. Inbound and marketing-influenced pipeline hit agreed targets, backed by a data-driven channel mix and a forecast Sales can plan around
  • Higher conversion rates. Win rate and deal velocity improve as positioning, proof points, competitive enablement, and nurture programs help Sales move buyers faster
  • We're reaching new markets. Messaging, campaigns, and proof points are in market for at least one new segment, with qualified pipeline to show for it
  • Our clients tell our story. Co-marketing runs on a regular cadence, client stories built with our Forest team's impact data become a signature content engine, and the program shows measurable lift in retention and expansion
  • Every event earns its place. The full-year events program reports return on every event, and the 2028 calendar is shaped by results
  • A great team is in place. The marketing team is hired and performing against clear goals, working in rhythm with Content and Creative Services, Sales, and Customer Success

What You'll Do

Product Marketing

  • Own veritree's positioning, messaging, and ideal customer profile (ICP), and keep them current as the product and market evolve
  • Lead go-to-market planning for product launches and new offerings, from messaging through to sales readiness
  • Build and maintain sales enablement materials such as pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, battlecards, and competitive analysis
  • Gather customer, market, and competitor insights and share them with Product and Sales to shape the roadmap and the pitch

Campaigns and Full-Funnel Management

  • Own the marketing funnel end to end, from awareness and acquisition through conversion, handoff to Sales, and closed revenue
  • Plan and launch integrated campaigns across channels such as paid media, email, webinars, content, and events that bring new customers into the funnel
  • Set funnel stages, targets, and conversion goals with Sales and Outbound, and make sure leads are handed off and followed up consistently
  • Set the strategy and budget for paid channels such as LinkedIn and Google, and manage the agencies and vendors that support them
  • Track performance at every stage of the funnel, report on it regularly, and shift budget toward what works

Co-Marketing

  • Build a co-marketing program with existing clients that showcases their verified restoration impact and deepens the relationship
  • Partner with Customer Success and Account Management to find co-marketing opportunities that support expansion, renewal, and NRR
  • Lead joint campaigns, case studies, webinars, and announcements with clients and partners
  • Measure the impact of co-marketing on retention and expansion revenue

Events

  • Own the annual events strategy and calendar, including industry conferences, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, and veritree-hosted events
  • Plan and run veritree's presence at each event, from budget and logistics through to messaging and follow-up
  • Work with Sales to turn event activity into meetings, pipeline, and stronger customer relationships
  • Report on the return of every event and use the results to plan the next year

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Head of Content and Creative Services to plan, brief, and deliver ads, campaign assets, sales decks, and other materials, so everything comes together on time and is properly used and executed on
  • Agree on shared priorities, timelines, and creative briefs so the Content and Creative Services team can plan its capacity around marketing's roadmap
  • Partner with the Forest team to turn restoration projects and impact data into accurate, compelling stories and offerings
  • Partner with Customer Success on co-marketing, retention, and expansion programs
  • Align campaigns with the Outbound team so outbound sequences and marketing messages reinforce each other
  • Work with Sales on targets, enablement, and lead handoffs so marketing activity turns into revenue

Leadership and Operations

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of marketers across product, campaign, events and co-marketing roles, and hire to fill gaps as the team scales
  • Own the budget for your areas and allocate it to maximize pipeline, revenue, and ROI
  • Align plans and targets with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and the Content and Creative Services team
  • Report on marketing performance to leadership with clear metrics and recommendations
